Monday’s Premier League match is an intriguing one as Manchester United travel to face Everton and former manager David Moyes.
The Toffees went into the weekend in eighth, but they will no doubt be keen to get back in action having had to wait 13 days since their last league game.
Man Utd predicted line-up vs Everton

The Red Devils have enjoyed a fantastic revival under interim manager Michael Carrick, following Ruben Amorim’s departure. And they’ll be looking to end the Premier League campaign where they started it: in the top four.
Man Utd have lost just one of their last 10 games, though they were held to a drew against West Ham United last time out.

Man Utd team news vs Everton
Carrick could field a largely unchanged team with none of Man Utd’s long-term absentees quiet ready to return. Midfielder Mason Mount is the closest to coming back but Carrick suggested this match will come too soon for him in his Friday press conference.
“Mason is getting closer, we have to be patient with him, we don’t want to push anything. He is an important part of the group and we want him back and fit so he will have a big impact for us,” said Carrick.
The Red Devils boss added that defender Matthijs de Ligt, who has been out since November, was further behind in his recovery, but not too far away.

“He is getting closer, which is good for us. Matthijs is working towards it, he is a little bit behind Mason. We are just trying to work with him to progress it to try and get him closer,” said Carrick.
Patrick Dorgu is still sidelined with a hamstring problem that has kept him out for almost a month so far.
Carrick still has some selection decisions to take, with Noussair Mazraoui pushing to replace Diogo Dalot at right-back. Harry Maguire should be fit to resume his central defensive partnership with Lisandro Martinez.
The defensive midfield duo of Casemiro and Kobbie Mainoo should remain intact. But one of Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Amad Diallo will have to start on the bench with Bruno Fernandes claiming the other attacking midfield spot and Benjamin Sesko likely to come in up front.
Sesko scored a late winner against Fulham and a last-gasp equaliser against West Ham coming off the bench and could pose problems for the Toffees.
A respectful rivalry
David Moyes was Manchester United manager for just under a full season in 2013-14. But one of his players in that campaign was midfielder Carrick, who is now in the Man Utd dugout.
Carrick was respectful of his former manager in his pre-match comments and says he expects a tough test on Monday night.
“David’s teams are hard to play against. He is such a good manager with the experience he has got and he knows what it takes to have success in this league,” said Carrick.
“It is a new challenge for us and one we are looking forward to. I know it is a new stadium but historically it has always been tough going to Everton. The atmosphere supporters create, it is always one of the toughest ones I have played in. So we are aware of that.”
The Red Devils have a decent record on their recent trips to Everton. They staged a comeback to draw 2-2 with goals by Bruno Fernandes and Manuel Ugarte last season. They also won 3-0 on Merseyside in November 2023 and triumphed 2-1 there in October 2022.
However, Carrick suggested he might not be too upset with a second successive draw on the road.
“We have to be balanced and not get carried away winning games and we are not getting carried away if we don’t come away with three points,” he said.
“Games are tough to win in this league.”
