Premier League fixtures 2022/23 release date: Clubs set to learn their schedules in less than 24 hours
The dust has barely settled from the 2021/22 Premier League season, but as we know, football rolls around quickly.
In a quite unusual turn of events, the Premier League’s curtain-raising weekend will commence at the start of August to accommodate the winter World Cup.
That means we are a little over two months away from the first match of the 2022/23 Premier League season.
It’s set to be a gripping campaign as Manchester City look to retain their crown with Erling Haaland leading the line and some believe their opening-day fixture has already been revealed. A since-deleted tweet (below) form the Premier League account picked up by @norwegianspursy suggests newly-promoted Bournemouth are their first fixture of the 2022/23 Premier League season.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have spent big on Darwin Nunez and stay in City’s slipstream. Then of course, Tottenham and Newcastle are predicted to have squad-altering summers.
Manchester United embark on a new era with Erik ten Hag coming in as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s permanent successor, while Nottingham Forest are finally back in the big time! When are the 2022/23 fixtures announced?
The Premier League have already confirmed the fixture schedule for the 2022/23 season will be released on Thursday, 16 June 2022 from 09:00 BST.
When does the 2022/23 season start?
Due to the World Cup in Qatar, which will take place in the middle of the domestic calendar, the Premier League has been brought forward.
The opening weekend is set to start on Saturday, 6 August 2022.
When does the 2022/23 season stop for the World Cup?
The 2022 World Cup kicks off on Monday, 21 November 2022 with the first match between Group A rivals Senegal and the Netherlands.
As such, matchday 16 is set to be the final round of 2022/23 Premier League fixtures before the division halts for the World Cup.
Those last set of fixtures are set to be played over the weekend of 12-13 November.

When will the 2022/23 season restart?
The Premier League will restart on Boxing Day following the World Cup final, which takes place on Sunday, 18 December 2022.
When does the 2022/23 season finish?
The final matchday is scheduled to be played on Sunday, 28 May 2023, with all games set to kick off simultaneously as usual.
