Liverpool will have hoped they had turned a corner after a really poor start to the season. But victories over Man City and West Ham were followed up with defeat at lowly Nottingham Forest.
Jurgen Klopp’s side received a boost in midweek, however, with their 3-0 victory over Ajax in Amsterdam securing their place in the Champions League knockout stages. Next up for the Reds is a clash with Leeds United at Anfield.
Leeds’ season has taken the opposite route to Liverpool’s. Having started the campaign strongly, Jesse Marsch’s side are slowly sliding further down the table. Losses to Brentford, Crystal Palace and Arsenal have seen them slip into the relegation picture and they’ll need to turn things around to avoid being fully drawn into a battle to avoid the drop.
