Squawka’s World Cup AI Predictor: AI score predictions for Monday 29th at the 2026 World Cup

Using data from previous tournaments and qualifying, we’ve tasked our model with creating some World Cup AI predictions with correct score picks on every match at this summer’s tournament.

Our AI predictor combines data from qualifying matches, previous World Cups, bookmakers and more to determine the most likely correct score outcome from the game.

As the tournament progresses, the model will focus more heavily on the games that have already taken place within the tournament and it will look beyond results to input shot, possession and general match momentum data to see where value may lie.

Norway vs France

Brazil enter this knockout tie as the most in-form side in the tournament alongside the Netherlands. After an opening draw with Morocco, they have been imperious – a 3-0 win over Haiti and a commanding 3-0 victory away to Scotland confirmed top spot in their group. Vinicius Junior has been the tournament’s most electrifying player, scoring four goals in three games, while Matheus Cunha has added three more. Brazil’s attack has been relentless and their only concern is a slightly yellow-card-laden squad, with Casemiro, Danilo, Fabinho, and others all on bookings.

Japan have been quietly impressive. Their 4-0 demolition of Tunisia was the statement result of their group, and they have shown tactical discipline in holding both Netherlands and Sweden to draws. Daichi Kamada and Ayase Ueda have been their primary threats with two goals apiece. However, stepping up to face Brazil’s attacking quality in a knockout game is an entirely different proposition. Japan will look to stay compact and hit on the counter, but Brazil’s pace and power across the forward line makes them overwhelming favourites. Expect Brazil to win, though Japan’s organisation could keep it tighter than the group stage form suggests.

AI Prediction: Brazil 3-1 Japan

Germany vs Paraguay

Germany’s tournament has been a rollercoaster. The 7-1 opening thrashing of Curaçao and a 2-1 win over Côte d’Ivoire suggested a side in ruthless form, but the shock 2-1 defeat to Ecuador in their final group game introduced doubt. Deniz Undav leads their scoring with three goals, and Kai Havertz has added two more — the attacking output has been there, but the defensive vulnerability exposed by Ecuador will concern Julian Nagelsmann heading into the knockout rounds. Pavlović is on a yellow card, adding a disciplinary subplot.

Paraguay’s path here has been unconventional. A heavy 4-1 loss to the United States was followed by a gritty 1-0 win over Turkey and a 0-0 draw with Australia. They are a team built on defensive solidity and set-piece threat rather than open-play dominance. Crucially, Diego Gómez is suspended (two yellow cards) and Miguel Almiron is also suspended following a red card – two significant absences that gut their midfield creativity. Against a Germany side with genuine quality across the pitch, Paraguay’s depleted midfield makes it very difficult to see how they contain the German press. Germany should win this comfortably.

AI Prediction: Germany 3-0 Paraguay

Netherlands vs Morocco

The pick of today’s three fixtures – two unbeaten sides, identical records, and a fascinating tactical clash. Netherlands have been the tournament’s most prolific scorers alongside Brazil, with Brian Brobbey leading the line magnificently (three goals) and Summerville and Gakpo adding two apiece. The 5-1 win over Sweden and the 3-1 defeat of Tunisia in the final group game showed their attacking depth is exceptional. Virgil van Dijk has been commanding at the back, and Ronald Koeman’s side look like genuine contenders.

Morocco, however, are no pushovers. They drew with Brazil in the opener – the only team to take points off the Selecao – and have since beaten Scotland and put four past Haiti. Ilias Saibari has been their standout player with three goals, and Achraf Hakimi’s attacking threat from right-back gives them a unique dimension. Their defensive record (three goals conceded in three games) is solid, and they will be tactically well-drilled under their coaching staff. This is the most evenly matched of today’s three games. Netherlands’ attacking firepower edges it, but Morocco’s resilience and the memory of their 2022 World Cup run make them dangerous opponents.

AI Prediction: Netherlands 2-1 Morocco
