Squawka’s World Cup AI Predictor: AI score predictions for Wednesday July 1 at the 2026 World Cup

Using data from previous tournaments and qualifying, we’ve tasked our model with creating some World Cup AI predictions with correct score picks on every match at this summer’s tournament.

Our AI predictor combines data from qualifying matches, previous World Cups, bookmakers and more to determine the most likely correct score outcome from the game.

As the tournament progresses, the model will focus more heavily on the games that have already taken place within the tournament and it will look beyond results to input shot, possession and general match momentum data to see where value may lie.

England vs DR Congo

England have been one of the tournament’s more convincing sides, winning their group with a 4-2 demolition of Croatia, a disciplined draw with Ghana, and a composed 2-0 win over Panama. Harry Kane leads their scoring with three goals, with Bellingham adding two — a partnership that gives England genuine cutting edge at the top of the pitch. Declan Rice and Jarrod Quansah are both on yellow cards, adding a disciplinary subplot, but the squad depth is there to manage any rotation.

Congo DR arrive here as the group stage’s surprise package. After drawing with Portugal and losing narrowly to Colombia, they signed off with a commanding 3-1 win over Uzbekistan that showed real quality. Yvan Wissa has been outstanding with three goals — his Premier League pedigree with Brentford has translated seamlessly to the international stage — and Mayele has added another. However, five players are on yellow cards, and the step up in class from Uzbekistan to England is considerable. England’s experience, depth, and clinical finishing should see them through, though Congo DR’s direct, physical style could cause problems if England are not at their best.

AI Prediction: England 3-1 DR Congo

Belgium vs Senegal

Belgium’s group stage was a study in inconsistency — draws with Egypt and Iran followed by a 5-1 thrashing of New Zealand that finally showed their attacking potential. Leandro Trossard leads their scoring with two goals, and De Bruyne, Lukaku, and Saelemaekers have all contributed. Crucially, Noa Ngoy is suspended following a red card, which is a blow to their defensive options. Belgium have the quality to go deep in this tournament but have yet to truly click as a unit.

Senegal’s tournament has been a rollercoaster of extremes. Defeats to France (3-1) and Norway (3-2) were followed by an extraordinary 5-0 dismantling of Iraq in their final group game – a result that rescued their campaign and demonstrated the attacking firepower at their disposal. Ismaïla Sarr has been their talisman with three goals, and Pape Gueye has added two more. However, the defensive record of six goals conceded in three games is a serious concern, and Pape Gueye is on a yellow card. Belgium’s greater tournament experience and defensive solidity — despite Ngoy’s absence — makes them marginal favourites, but Senegal’s attacking threat means this could be a high-scoring affair.

AI Prediction: Belgium 2-1 Senegal

USA vs Bosnia-Herzegovina

The home nation’s flagship fixture of this round, and one that carries enormous weight given the tournament is being co-hosted on US soil. The Americans have been impressive when at their best — a 4-1 opening win over Paraguay and a 2-0 victory against Australia showcased their attacking depth, with Folarin Balogun leading the line with two goals. The 3-2 defeat to Turkey in the final group game was a bump in the road but did not affect their qualification. Five players are on yellow cards — Adams, Robinson, Balogun, Richards, and Berhalter — which will require careful management.

Bosnia-Herzegovina have been a mixed bag. A draw with Canada and a heavy 4-1 defeat to Switzerland were followed by a battling 3-1 win over Qatar to squeeze through. Ervin Mahmić has been their standout with two goals, but the squad carries significant disciplinary baggage — six players on yellow cards — and critically, Toni Muharemović is suspended following a red card, a major defensive loss. Playing against a USA side backed by a partisan home crowd, with their best centre-back absent, Bosnia face a very steep hill. The atmosphere at Levi’s Stadium will be electric, and the Americans should have too much quality across the pitch.

AI Prediction: USA 3-1 Bosnia
