Tottenham team news vs PSG

Manager Thomas Frank will hope for a reaction from his Tottenham side following their disappointing defeat to Arsenal on Sunday and Spurs may ring the changes for the trip to PSG.

Frank is likely to revert to a back four in Paris, with Kevin Danso set to miss out in the centre of defence.

Pedro Porro could replace Djed Spence at right-back, with Micky van de Ven partnering Cristian Romero at the heart of Tottenham’s rearguard.

Pape Matar Sarr is in line for a recall ahead of Rodrigo Bentancur in midfield, and Lucas Bergvall is back from a concussion injury. Archie Gray is another option for Frank in defence or midfield.

Loanee striker Randal Kolo Muani is eligible to face his parent club and the PSG-owned forward is likely to start up front. Big-money summer signing Xavi Simons is pushing for a start and Mathys Tel could get the nod to start in replacement for Wilson Odobert out wide.

Dominic Solanke remains sidelined with an ankle injury and Brennan Johnson is suspended following his red card against FC Copenhagen.

Frank’s facing unrest after derby defeat

Ange Postecoglou delivered a Europa League trophy for Spurs last season, but the Australian’s steadfast belief in his approach ended up costing him his job.

There has been a fair amount of unrest in north London since Frank took charge of the Lilywhites.

The cautious approach of the former Brentford boss and the lack of tempo and attacking intent of his side have been a huge concern to the Tottenham faithful.

An abject performance in a 1-0 defeat against Chelsea was seen as a low point in Spurs’ season, but the Lilywhites offered even less when losing in the North London derby on Sunday.

That left Tottenham’s unenthused supporters feeling even more disgruntled and Frank can’t afford too many more poor performances.

A trip to Paris to face PSG doesn’t look like the ideal fixture for the Londoners to bounce back, and the pressure on Frank could build further if Spurs suffer another heavy defeat.
