The Premier League is brimming with players who love nothing more than taking on their opposite man, and are pretty handy at winning their one-on-one duels.
Winning said duels can often be the difference between three points and zero. As a result, players capable of operating in tight areas and beating a challenge do not come cheap, which may explain Jack Grealish’s nine-figure price tag.
But the Englishman isn’t in the top 10 for take-ons in the Premier League so far this season, having completed just 17 in 814 minutes. In a surprise to absolutely no one, Adama Traore is currently leading the way for take-ons having already completed 70, 12 more than his closest rival. That rival is another unsurprising name in Allan Saint-Maximin (58), with Lucas Moura completing the top three – though he is way bak on 39.
Joining the aforementioned trio in breaking the 30 mark is Leandro Trossard, Dwight McNeil, Raphinha and Wilfried Zaha, while Mohamed Salah is also in the top 10.
Can anyone get close to Traore over the next seven months? Keep track of the top 10 dribblers below as the 2021/22 campaign progresses.
