Poland Women vs Sweden Women predictions, odds, betting tips and team news

Poland Women and Sweden Women meet in their second Women’s Euro 2025 group game at Allmend Stadion Luzern on Tuesday 8th July at 8pm (UK time). Sweden will be looking to boost their chances of reaching the quarter-finals against the tournament debutants. This game will be broadcast live on BBC One.

Sweden Women to win to nil (1/1 with bet365)

Peter Gerhardsson’s Sweden are considered one of the “dark horses” in Switzerland this summer and they have shown plenty of promise in recent months.

They have lost only two of their last 20 matches in all competitions and they will be expected to outclass Poland on Tuesday night.

Sweden have recorded three clean sheets in their last four matches, while they conceded only four times during their qualifying campaign.

Poland scored just four times during their six qualifiers and they should struggle to compete with a team of Sweden’s quality.

Sweden to win by 3+ goals and Stina Blackstenius to score first (13/2 with bet365)

Sweden’s last game before Euro 2025 saw them beat Norway 2-0 at the end of June, but at the start of last month, they hammered Denmark 6-1.

Poland allowed an xG of 2.77 against Germany in their opening match, conceding 25 shots in what was a tough night at the office.

Having registered 18 shots against Denmark, Sweden will expect to outclass Poland from the outset and they can rack up the goals against the Eaglesses, who conceded 17 goals in six qualifiers.

Arsenal forward Stina Blackstenius is one of Sweden’s key players and she will be one player to watch in Lucerne.

The 29-year-old had five shots against Denmark and she was at the heart of most of their attacks.

Blackstenius has scored five goals in her last four outings and if Poland’s defence gives her space in the box, she has the ability to punish them.

How both teams go into Poland vs Sweden

Poland are making their major tournament debut at Women’s Euro 2025. And their start couldn’t get much harder. Poland were unable to get anything against Germany, and come into this game without a point. Which means they need to beat Sweden to keep any hopes of reaching the quarter-finals alive.

Before their defeat to Germany, Poland had enjoyed an 11-match unbeaten run, but they did compete a level below Sweden in League B in the UEFA Nations League. Poland went into the tournament in a good run of form, albeit aided by a lower standard of opposition in the play-offs and Uefa Nations League B. But they’ll be hoping to use that to get a result in Switzerland.

Sweden’s opening game against Denmark was a close battle that could’ve gone either way. Sweden were able to come away with the win though, albeit a slender one with a 1-0 victory. They know another victory here would all but seal their passage into the knockout stages with a game to spare.

One-time winners, Sweden have never failed to make it out of the group stage since that was implemented in 1997. Three years ago Sweden made it to the semi-finals, unbeaten until being knocked out. Sweden are unbeaten in 13 matches in all competitions, with France the last team to beat them in July 2024.

Poland team news

Defence may be Poland’s best chance of getting a result against Sweden, with the experience of Martyna Wiankowska and Paulina Dudek set to be key. Poland should have a fully fit squad to select from.

Sweden team news

Sweden have the strength in attack to be able to rotate, which could cause Poland problems. There are no known injury problems for Sweden.

Poland vs Sweden head-to-head

Sweden have won all eight of their previous games with Poland, scoring 31 while conceding just three.
