Our PredictionOdds & BookmakerConfidenceWhy We’re Backing It
Manchester United to Win6/5 @ Matchbook
(45.5%)
⭐⭐⭐⭐We are backing United because they have scored 54 goals this season (10 more than Bournemouth), created more big chances (60 vs 45), and won seven of the last 14 H2Hs. Their attacking depth, highlighted by Bruno Fernandes’ league-best 16 assists, should make the difference—even away from home.
Both Teams to Score: No7/4 @ BetMGM
(36.4%)
⭐⭐⭐There could be value here as United have kept five clean sheets and Bournemouth, despite creating chances, have had 44 big chances missed. Recent meetings have gone either way, but with United’s pass accuracy and defensive improvement, a shutout is possible if they control play.

How both teams go into Bournemouth vs Man United

Bournemouth made a strong start to the season and briefly looked like outside contenders for European qualification, picking up five wins, three draws and just one loss early on. However, their form dipped badly over the winter, as they went 11 games without a win before finally beating Tottenham 3-2 at the start of 2026.

That result sparked a turnaround, with the Cherries now unbeaten in 10 league matches, although many of those have been draws, leaving them 10th in the table. With eight games left, they still have a slim chance of reaching Europe, especially if eighth place is enough, but they’ll need to turn draws into wins, starting with a victory that could lift them above Everton.

Since Michael Carrick took charge as interim manager in January, Manchester United have been in excellent form, collecting 22 points from nine games with seven wins, one draw and just one defeat. That run includes impressive victories over Manchester City, Arsenal and Aston Villa, helping lift them up to third place in the table.

They now sit six points clear of Chelsea in the race for Champions League spots and could strengthen their position further with a win on Friday, which would also open a gap to fourth-placed Aston Villa. However, United have been less convincing away from home this season, and Carrick’s only defeat came on the road, so he’ll be keen to see an improved performance this time.

Bournemouth team news

Bournemouth are still dealing with several injuries, with Justin Kluivert, Lewis Cook, Tyler Adams and Julio Soler all unavailable. David Brooks, who has created the most big chances for the team this season, could return to the starting lineup, while Marcus Tavernier may move into a more central role alongside Rayan and Evanilson in attack.

Man United team news

Manchester United also have key absentees, with Lisandro Martinez, Matthijs de Ligt and Patrick Dorgu sidelined until at least April. Bruno Fernandes remains the main creative force and is closing in on the Premier League assist record, while Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Amad Diallo are expected to lead the attack, with Benjamin Sesko likely to come off the bench again.

Season Form & Standings

2025/26 season to date: Manchester United have asserted themselves in the upper reaches of the table, while Bournemouth remain stubbornly mid-table thanks to a glut of draws. United’s 54 points from 30 matches put them third, having won 50% of their games, while Bournemouth sit 10th after 14 draws and a positive attacking output. The Cherries are resilient but have found wins harder to come by.

Head-to-Head: Last 6 Meetings

The last six Premier League encounters between these sides have seen plenty of goals, with both teams notching convincing wins and a handful of high-scoring draws. Manchester United have edged the head-to-head record recently, but Bournemouth have pulled off some notable upsets, including two 3-0 away victories.

Conclusion: Can United Edge It Again?

While AFC Bournemouth have shown they can trouble Manchester United on their day, especially with a solid attack and a knack for frustrating draws, the weight of evidence points towards the visitors. United’s superior creativity and attacking depth, coupled with their stronger head-to-head record, make them the value play. Will it be another goal fest or can United’s improved defence get the job done? Our top pick is Manchester United to win at 6/5 (45.5%), but with Bournemouth’s unpredictability, this is an encounter not to be missed.
