Manchester United will be hoping to build on an unbeaten Premier League home run when they host Wolverhampton Wanderers are Old Trafford on Sunday 20th April.

The Red Devils are playing for pride in the league, still stuck in the bottom half. Wolves, meanwhile, know they are almost safe from relegation.

BTTS No (1/1 with Sky Bet)

Both teams have scored in just two of the past 12 meetings between these two sides across all competitions. This has traditionally been quite a tight fixture with three of the last five meetings being decided by just a single goal and, with Man Utd struggling and Wolves just trying to ensure their Premier League safety, it could be a similar story in this one. Additionally, three of the last five domestic matches featuring Man Utd have ended without both teams finding the net.

Over 2.5 Man Utd cards (11/8 with Bet365)

Surprisingly, Man Utd have been shown more cards than Wolves this season, averaging 2.29 per game to their opponents’ 2.16. It’s been a strange season for Man Utd, who have found themselves in the lower reaches of the Premier League and that extends to their disciplinary record which is one of the worst in the league. The worst offender has been Manuel Ugarte who has picked up 16 bookings this season, including four in his last eight matches in all competitions.

How both teams go into Man Utd vs Wolves

Man Utd are currently seven points outside the top half of the table, and are mainly playing for pride with European football out of the question. The Red Devils will look to the Europa League as their only chance of returning to continental competition next season. They are on a bit of an unbeaten run at home in the league at the moment. Although that run is only three games, it’s Man Utd’s biggest under Ruben Amorim. They’ve won one of those games, against relegation-battling Ipswich Town, but have also picked up draws against Arsenal and Manchester City.

Man Utd come into this game off the back of an extraordinary Europa League match against Lyon. The game went to extra time and Man Utd found themselves on the verge of elimination before scoring three goals in seven minutes to secure their passage to the semi-final.

Wolves are so close to safety. They’ve been a good run under Vitor Pereira at just the right time. Wolves have won their past four games as part of a wider five-match unbeaten run. It’s lifted them 14 points clear of the relegation zone with six games left to play. And they have the boost of a much better goal difference than 18th-placed Ipswich. Wolves are also on a good run away from home, winning each of their past three matches on the road.

A win here, coupled with a loss for Ipswich would assure Wolves of their Premier League status with five games to spare. They are certainly the form side in the division, with four wins in their last four, and another victory against Man Utd would lift them level on points with the Red Devils.

Man Utd team news

Amad Diallo, Jonny Evans and Ayden Heaven are all expected to miss out for this game. Lisandro Martinez is a long-term absentee.

Wolves team news

Sasa Kalajdzic, Yerson Mosquera, Enso Gonzalez and Leon Chiwone are all long-term absentees for Wolves.

Man Utd vs Wolves head-to-head

Wolves are looking to do the league double over Man Utd for the first time since 1979-80, after their 2-0 win at Molineux on Boxing Day. But Man Utd have won the past two meetings at Old Trafford.
