Germany vs Serbia predictions and betting tips: Klopp’s second squad can land a first win

Jurgen Klopp is still waiting for his first win as Germany boss, and our Germany vs Serbia predictions back him to get it at the Allianz Arena on Thursday night (7.45pm UK) against a Serbia side beaten in each of their last four matches.

Anthony Eadson’s Germany vs Serbia predictions, best bets and score prediction are below.

Premium Tips

Our two Premium Tips for Thursday’s clash in Munich focus on Serbia’s leaky defence and Germany’s own problems at the back.

Premium TipOddsWhy we’re backing it
Germany to win and both teams to score6/4 (Betfair Sportsbook)Germany have conceded in each of their last six matches, from the 7-1 World Cup win over Curacao through to Sunday’s 1-0 home defeat to Greece. Serbia have scored in both Nations League games, through Andrija Zivkovic against Greece and Luka Jovic against the Netherlands, and Jovic also scored in the last meeting with Germany in 2019. At the other end, Serbia have lost four in a row and conceded 12 goals in that run, including 3-0 and 5-1 friendly defeats to Cape Verde and Mexico. They have not kept a clean sheet since beating Latvia 1-0 in September 2025, so a home win with goals at both ends is the angle to take.
Germany 24+ total shots9/2 (Betway)Serbia have been swamped in both Nations League games so far, allowing 26 shots to Greece and another 25 to the Netherlands, and both of those games were in Belgrade. Now they travel to the Allianz Arena, where Germany are desperate for a first win under Jurgen Klopp. Even against a Greece side who defended deep in Augsburg, Germany managed 16 shots. Serbia are also without Nikola Milenkovic, Dusan Vlahovic and Aleksandar Mitrovic, and they have lost four matches in a row. With Florian Wirtz, Nick Woltemade and Jonathan Burkardt all in Klopp’s second squad, 9/2 on Germany having 24 or more shots is worth backing.

How Germany go into the game

Germany sit third in League A Group 2 with one point after a 1-1 draw with the Netherlands in Amsterdam and a 1-0 home defeat to Greece in Augsburg, where they had 16 shots but could not find a way past Konstantinos Tzolakis.

Germany are winless in four matches, including both games under Klopp, and have conceded in each of their last seven. Jamal Musiala and Kai Havertz are injured, and Klopp named two squads for this window, with the second, which faces Serbia, including Florian Wirtz, Nick Woltemade and Jonathan Burkardt.

How Serbia go into the game

Serbia prop up the group without a point after two 2-1 home defeats in Belgrade, to Greece and then the Netherlands. Veljko Paunovic’s side have now lost four in a row, having also been beaten 3-0 by Cape Verde and 5-1 by Mexico in friendlies before the World Cup.

Mitrovic, Vlahovic and Milenkovic are all missing, which leaves Dejan Joveljic and Jovic, who came off the bench to score against the Netherlands, competing to lead the line. Dusan Tadic won a record 113th cap last time out, and Serbia have scored in both of their Nations League games.

Only three meetings have taken place since Serbia began playing as an independent nation in 2006, and each side has one win. Serbia won 1-0 at the 2010 World Cup, while the most recent game, a friendly in Wolfsburg in March 2019, finished 1-1 thanks to goals from Jovic and Leon Goretzka.

Germany vs Serbia score prediction

Serbia have allowed at least 25 shots in each of their two group games, and a Germany side full of fresh faces from Klopp’s second squad should create more than enough to finally get off the mark. With Germany conceding in six straight matches and Jovic among the goals, a Serbia goal looks likely as well. Score prediction: Germany 3-1 Serbia.
