Fantasy Premier League tips: Three must-have differential picks for FPL Gameweek 25
After Holly picked out two crackers last week, it’s little surprise you’re back to see who she’s tipping to star ahead of this weekend’s FPL action.
Our resident FPL expert has been working alongside the Comparison Matrix to determine who are the low-ownership picks that could return big hauls this weekend.
With it being a double gameweek, Holly has picked out three players who will feature twice and could prove to be the difference in your league. Can Diaz return back-to-back performances and will Ivan Toney prove his Premier League pedigree further?
Nathan Ake vs Chelsea (H), Brentford (H), £5,0m
7.7% ownership
Manchester City’s Nathan Ake is their highest scoring defensive player in the game this season, but remains a differential in less than 6.5% of teams. City have two home games this gameweek, with two thirds of their clean sheets for this campaign coming at the Etihad.
Ake is the most attacking of Manchester City’s defenders, with two goals and three assists this season, including an assist against Everton last time out. He has started all of the last eight Premier League games, completing 90 minutes on each occasion.
Luis Diaz vs Brentford (A), Luton (H), £7.5m
10.1% ownership
Liverpool midfielder Luis Diaz is the most friendly on the budget of their front three right now at just £7.4 million and he’s the biggest differential in just 8.7% of sides. He scored as a substitute in the reverse fixture against Luton back in Gameweek 11.
He is a player in form, with two goals and two assists from his last four Premier League games. It’s been encouraging to see him start all of the last five league games for Liverpool and he should keep his place short-term while Mohamed Salah is reintroduced from injury.
Ivan Toney vs Liverpool (H), Manchester City (A), £8.2m
8.3% ownership
Brentford’s Ivan Toney remains a differential (7.2% TSB) since returning from his ban, starting all of the last four and completing 90 minutes. In that time he’s chalked up four goal involvements, sitting top among all players with six big chances on goal in this period.
The Bees have the toughest fixtures of the sides with a double gameweek, hosting top of the table Liverpool before travelling to treble winners Manchester City. Toney should be considered fixture proof though; he scored a brace the last time he visited the Etihad.
