There’s a huge night of Champions League action taking place on Wednesday as 18 matches all kick off simultaneously. There will be plenty decided on Wednesday evening, as teams progress to the knockout stages, qualify for the playoffs or see their European adventure come to an end.

We’re sharing our Champions League predictions for eight key matches ahead of a mammoth evening of continental action. Read on for our Champions League best bets.

Aston Villa vs Celtic – Wednesday, 8pm

Jhon Duran anytime goalscorer, Aston Villa to win and BTTS (5/1 with Sky Bet)

Jhon Duran has scored a third of Aston Villa’s nine Champions League goals this season. At the time of writing, Aston Villa have kept just one clean sheet in their last nine across all competitions, but they’ve won six of those matches, including 3-2 away at RB Leipzig in the Champions League.

Girona vs Arsenal – Wednesday, 8pm

Kai Havertz anytime goalscorer, Arsenal to win and Oriol Romeu to be booked (10/1 with Paddy Power)

Kai Havertz has scored three goals in this season’s Champions League so far, with only Bukayo Saka (4) managing more for Arsenal. Arsenal have won four of their six Champions League games so far this season, conceding just two goals along the way. Oriol Romeu has been booked seven times in 19 appearances this season.

Barcelona vs Atalanta – Wednesday, 8pm

Barcelona to win, Robert Lewandowski anytime goalscorer and Marten de Roon to be booked (9/1 with BetMGM)

Barcelona have won their last six Champions League matches following their opening day defeat to Monaco, securing their place in the knockout stages as a result. Robert Lewandowski has scored 29 goals in 30 appearances in all competitions for Barcelona this season, whilst Marten de Roon has been booked five times in 31 appearances this season.

PSV vs Liverpool – Wednesday, 8pm

Dominik Szoboszlai Over 0.5 Shots on Target (7/5 with BetMGM)

Szoboszlai found the net in the 4-1 win over Ipswich on Saturday and has been letting off an increased amount of shots in recent weeks. Across his last six starts for Liverpool, he recorded 21 shots, five of which hit the target. With this in mind, the 7/5 that is available with MGM looks generous.

Manchester City vs Club Brugge – Wednesday, 8pm

Man City to Win & Under 4.5 Goals (4/5 with Sky Bet)

Manchester City are unbeaten in their last 33 UEFA Champions League matches at the Etihad (W28 D5). I’m backing the hosts to come out on top, but I do think the goal line is set too high here, with Brugge expected to park the bus.

The Belgians have beaten Sporting Lisbon and Aston Villa in this competition and held Juventus to a goalless draw last time out. A draw or better would guarantee a spot in the playoffs for Brugge and although City looked a lot more comfortable at the weekend against Chelsea, but I’m struggling to see their being over four goals here.

Inter Milan vs Monaco – Wednesday, 8pm

Draw, BTTS – Yes and Under 4.5 Goals (9/2 with Bet365)

These two sides are separated by just three points and both need to secure their own passages to the next stage of the competition. Inter Milan need a point to guarantee themselves a place in the knockout stages whilst Monaco will qualify for the playoff round with a point of their own. With both sides needing a point, they should both enter the match with a positive outlook and this could lead to plenty of chances. Inter have scored in four of their last five matches, although all five of their matches have ended with a 1-0 scoreline. Monaco have scored nine in their last five Champions League matches but this is influenced by their 5-1 win over Red Star Belgrade.

Bayern Munich vs Slovan Bratislava – Wednesday, 8pm

Bayern Munich to win, Michael Olise anytime goalscorer and Danylo Ignatenko to be booked (13/2 with Unibet)

Bayern Munich need to win to stand any chance of finishing in the top eight of the group stage and automatically qualify for the knockout stages, whilst Slovan Bratislava have lost all seven of their Champions League games this season. Michael Olise has scored four goals in seven Champions League matches this season. Danylo Ignatenko has been booked twice in five Champions League appearances this season.

Juventus vs Benfica – Wednesday, 8pm

Juventus to win, BTTS and Alexander Bah to be booked (12/1 with Bet365)

Both sides need to win to secure their passage to the playoff stage of the Champions League and home advantage could end up being key for The Old Lady. With both teams needing the win there should be plenty of attacking intent at both ends of the pitch and the goals could flow in Turin. Alexander Bah has been booked in three of his last nine appearances in all competitions.
