Aston Villa vs Celtic Odds

How both teams go into Aston Villa vs Celtic

Aston Villa have enjoyed a stunning return to Europe, sitting ninth in the table with just two defeat from seven games so far. Beating Bayern Munich 1-0 has definitely been the high point, but Unai Emery’s men have conducted themselves brilliantly throughout the campaign and will now look to finish the league phase job at home to Celtic.

The Scottish champions still have a great chance of progression to the knockout rounds, sandwiched between Juventus and PSV in 18th with twelve points on the board from seven games. The Bhoys have already secured qualification to the playoff phase following a 1-0 win over Young Boys in their last match.

Aston Villa team news

John McGinn is out until early February, while Pau Torres is a major doubt for this match, whilst it looks like Tyrone Mings is set for another lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Celtic team news

Odin Thiago Holm will remain sidelined for this match, but James Forrest could return to action.

Celtic vs Young Boys head-to-head

This will be the first-ever competitive meeting between Aston Villa and Celtic. Villa boast a perfect record against Scottish opposition over the years, beating Hibernian 8-0 on aggregate in the 2023/24 Uefa Conference League qualifiers, while they beat Rangers 3-1 in the FA Cup semi-finals way back in 1887.
