This weekend sees a rare 8pm clash in the Premier League when Bournemouth welcome Chelsea to the Vitality Stadium on Saturday.

Predicted XIs:

Bournemouth (4-2-3-1): Travers; Araujo, Zabarnyi, Senesi, Kerkez; Cook, Christie; Semenyo, Kluivert, Tavernier; Evanilson

Chelsea (4-2-3-1): Sanchez; Disasi, Fofana, Colwill, Cucurella; Caicedo, Fernandez; Madueke, Palmer, Neto; Jackson

Bournemouth broke a Premier League record in their last outing, leaving it later than any other side had previously done to come from 2-0 down. They trailed until the 87th minute but beat Everton 3-2 at Goodison Park.

Goals from Antoine Semenyo, Lewis Cook, and Luis Sinisterra sealed the deal for the Cherries, who will be irked by the timing of the international break as that hiatus threatens to halt any momentum gained from that incredible comeback.

Andoni Iraola’s men have enjoyed an unbeaten start to the Premier League season, something that can’t be said of Chelsea, although their defeat to Manchester City was expected.

A 6-2 thrashing of Wolves followed. Enzo Maresca hopes that away form can translate to this trip to Bournemouth as he aims to appease an unpredictable board while balancing their many new signings.

The Blues drew 1-1 with Crystal Palace in their last match, but there was much to like about their performance in that tricky London derby. The signs are positive that the Italian is getting a tune out of his many players and finally building a settled starting XI.

The showdown will be showcased live on Sky Sports Premier League.

Bournemouth vs Chelsea Team News

Enes Ünal and Tyler Adams are definite injury absentees for Bournemouth, while Danish midfielder Philip Billing must be assessed before kickoff. Although he was rumoured to leave over the summer, he would only be an option from the bench if fit.

There will be at least one change from the side that won at Everton, though, as loanee Kepa Arrizabalaga is ineligible to face his parent club. This means Mark Travers will start in goal for the Cherries.

Semenyo has two goals and one assist in three league games this term and will be looking to maintain his fine form from the right wing, with record-signing Evanilson likely to continue up front.

Right-back Reece James is injured, and his deputy, Malo Gusto, is a significant doubt for Chelsea. This means that Maresca will have to reshuffle his defensive unit and shift Axel Disasi to full-back.

Cole Palmer withdrew from England duty, which was reportedly fatigue-related. He should be back for the trip south, as should Romeo Lavia.

Goalkeeper Filip Jørgensen was forced off while away with Denmark’s under-21 side, and the severity of that issue has yet to be confirmed. However, Robert Sánchez has been Maresca’s preferred choice between the sticks in the Premier League and will start regardless.
