Canada could only muster a draw against Bosnia-Herzegovina despite dominating the second half at the 2026 World Cup.
The co-hosts struggled in the early stages, failing to get to grips with the game as Bosnia-Herzegovina took control. The European side looked dangerous from set pieces and it was one of a string of corners for Bosnia-Herzegovina that saw them break the deadlock.
Sead Kolasinac flicked on an in-swinging corner from the right and Jovo Lukic glanced it into the net. The goal seemed to kick Canada into life and they began to assert themselves into the game. There were some dangerous moments from Les Rouges but they were unable to find the goal they coveted before the break.
The second half saw Canada take more control as Bosnia-Herzegovina retreated to try and protect their lead. Head coach, Jesse Marsch made some substitutions, with both Promise David and Cyle Larin thrown on to try and find the equaliser.
The new-look Canadian attack caused some chaotic moments in the Bosnian defence but it took until 12 minutes from time for Canada to finally find the net. Larin received the ball centrally just inside the area, turned sharply and got off an early shot. Neither the defence or the goalkeeper were able to set themselves and Canada drew level.
The remaining few minutes of the game lacked the same verve but there was still time for a late chance for Canada, with Larin again coming close. A defender blocked his close-range shot well and the teams shared the spoils.
