Antonio Conte’s side are currently third in the table, just four points behind leaders and rivals Arsenal, and have won back-to-back games after losing to the Gunners at the start of the month. Man Utd, meanwhile, are in fifth, seven points behind Tottenham with a game in hand but faced a tough match at the weekend, held to a goalless draw by Newcastle.

Absences were piling up for Man Utd ahead of the weekend, but the Red Devils have enjoyed a few welcome boosts. Scott McTominay is available after serving suspension against Newcastle for five yellow cards, while Martin Dubravka will return to the bench having been ineligible to face his parent club. Christian Eriksen is also likely to be available after illness.
However, Wednesday does come too soon for Harry Maguire and Anthony Martial, while Donny van de Beek and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are definitely out. With Martial injured, Cristiano Ronaldo will be hoping to start back-to-back Premier League matches, and the Portuguese was key to beating Tottenham in this fixture last season.
After beating Tottenham in London earlier in the campaign, bringing the end of the Nuno Espirito Santo era and starting Conte’s revolution, Man Utd completed the league double in March thanks to a 3-2 victory at Old Trafford. Tottenham had been growing under Conte and will have gone into the game looking to show Man Utd what they missed out on, but Ronaldo’s hat-trick earned all three points for Ralf Rangnick’s side – one of the high points of his tenure.
And Conte insists his Tottenham side lost only to Ronaldo in March, not Man Utd.
“Last season he scored a hat-trick against us. We’re talking about an incredible player, a top player. We’re talking about a player who continues to make a difference for the team in which he plays,” Conte told reporters.
“I have a lot of admiration for Cristiano, for his professionalism, but I hope he will remain calm, not like last season, when he scored three goals.
“We lost 3-2, but we lost to him, not to United last season. I remember that very well, because we played a very good game.”

Emerson Royal is still unavailable for Tottenham and will serve the final game of his three-match suspension following the red card against Arsenal. Conte will be hoping that Dejan Kulusevski is available in some capacity, particularly with Richarlison having to come off against Everton at the weekend through injury. While the Brazilian is expected to be back for the World Cup, he will miss the trip to Old Trafford.
