The Gunners are on cloud nine at the minute having recently edged a 3-2 thriller against Liverpool to reclaim top spot in the Premier League. Mikel Arteta will no doubt be hoping to tap into that momentum and take down Bodo/Glimt for the second time in the space of a week, and consolidate first in Group A of the Europa League. It was a comprehensive 3-0 dismantling last Thursday at the Emirates, which has left the Gunners table-topping in Europe as well the domestic scene.

Bodo/Glimt team news

Sondre Fet is the only major concern for Den Gule Horde manager Kjetil Knutsen. The Norwegian coach will have several decisions to make ahead of Thursday’s showdown. Marius Hoibraten may be a player introduced to prevent another three-goal thrashing taking place after he entered the fray late on last week. Albert Gronbaek may be another also parachuted into the starting XI to bring some bite and steel to the midfield.

Arsenal team news

Arteta has taken on a policy of rotation this Europa League, so expect the likes of Fabio Vieira, Eddie Nketiah and Marquinhos to be given a run out. Emile Smith Rowe, Mohamed Elneny and Oleksandr Zinchenko are all still out of action, so Albert Sambi Lokonga and Kieran Tierney are likely to be the fringe players of choice given a chance to showcase their talents.

Arteta has proven himself in the Arsenal hotseat since emerging from Pep Guardiola’s shadow at Manchester City, accentuating the assets of a number of the club’s star players. However, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang appeared to accuse his former boss of being unable to handle “big players” in a recently emerged video of the now Chelsea star.

Aubameyang was infamously stripped of his captaincy by Arteta at Arsenal for breaching a number of disciplinary rules, and was subsequently allowed to leave for Barcelona. A video has since been leaked of the Gabonese striker criticising Arteta, saying: “Big characters and big players…he can’t deal with it. He needs some young players who don’t say anything.”

Following the attention generated from the leaked footage, Aubameyang has sought to address the issue, tweeting:  “Aware there is a video out that was recorded just after I arrived at Barca. At the time I still had a lot of bad feelings in me – Arsenal are doing great things this season and I wish all my old guys well, just not on November 6.”

Scoreline prediction: Bodo/Glimt 0-2 Arsenal
