Premier League stats and records you might see in Gameweek 37

We’ve reached the penultimate gameweek of the 2025-26 Premier League season and this could be the time that both the title race and relegation battle are decided, depending on results of course.

If Arsenal win at home to Burnley on Monday and then Manchester City fail to win away to Bournemouth on Tuesday, then the Gunners will be crowned champions.

Meanwhile, if West Ham fail to win at Newcastle on Sunday, Tottenham can secure their survival by beating Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday.

Read on for all the statistics and storylines that could occur in gameweek 37.

Villa eye rare Reds scalp

  • Aston Villa are bidding to beat Liverpool for the first time in the Premier League since their famous 7-2 win in October 2020.

Aston Villa (5th) and Liverpool (4th) are both locked on 59 points ahead of this crunch top-five tussle at Villa Park on Friday night.

Aston Villa head into the game seeking their first win in 11 Premier League games against Liverpool, having not won in this fixture since their famous 7-2 win back in October 2020. John McGinn, who was on the scoresheet that day, has five goal involvements in his last six games in all competitions and is chasing double-figures for goals for the first time in a single season (currently on 9).

Liverpool currently sit 9th in the away table, having lost more games (8) on the road than they’ve won (7), with a -2 goal difference. Another loss on Friday would extend their overall tally to 12 league defeats for the first time since 2014-15.

Bruno on the brink

  • Bruno Fernandes will once again attempt to equal the single season Premier League assist record of 20, held jointly by Thierry Henry (2002/03) and Kevin De Bruyne (2019/20).

Bruno Fernandes will be eyeing up another attempt at equaling the Thierry Henry (2002/03) and Kevin De Bruyne (2019/20) record of 20 assists in a Premier League season. His current 2025-26 tally means he’s just one off the record as he heads into Sunday’s clash at home to Nottingham Forest, while two more assists would see him break it.

Meanwhile, the United skipper needs two more goal involvements to equal David Beckham’s Premier League goal and assist tally of 142, which would leave him behind only Paul Scholes (162), Ryan Giggs (271), and Ryan Giggs (276) in the Man United charts.

Nottingham Forest are bidding to go unbeaten in nine Premier League games for the first time since 1995-96 (in the same season). A win against Man United would see Forest claim back-to-back wins at Old Trafford for the first time since September 1990/April 1992 under Brian Clough.

History calling for Hinshelwood

  • Jack Hinshelwood could become the first Brighton player to ever score in four successive Premier League games.

Jack Hinshelwood is on fire right now, having scored in each of his last three Brighton games against Chelsea, Newcastle, and Wolves. The versatile midfielder now has the chance to become the first Brighton player to ever score in four successive Premier League games, when his side travel to Leeds this weekend.

Brighton, who have a joint-high six wins since the start of March, have won 10 and lost just one of their last 13 league games against Leeds and are currently enjoying a run of seven games unbeaten in this fixture.

However, Leeds are now safe from the drop and enjoying a decent run of form themselves. If they avoid defeat against Brighton they will be eight unbeaten in the Premier League for the first time since 2001.

Unwanted history for Wolves

  • Wolves could equal their club record for most defeats (25) in a single league campaign, previously set in 1964/65, 1983/84, 1984/85, and 1985/86.

It’s been a rotten season for Wolves who have been relegated for nearly a month. They’ve lost 24 of their 36 games meaning another defeat would see them match their club record for most losses in a single league campaign (25), previously set in 1964/65, 1983/84, 1984/85, and 1985/86.

Fulham arrive in patchy form after back-to-back defeats, but having beaten Wolves 3-0 earlier in the season, they are now in position to complete their first-ever league double over them in the 46th meeting between the sides.

Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno is set to reach a milestone of 250 Premier League appearances, which would see him become only the third German to reach that landmark after Robert Huth (322) and Dietmar Hamann (268).

Palace seek rare double

  • Crystal Palace are targeting their first league double over Brentford since 1957-58.

Crystal Palace may have one eye on their upcoming Conference League final against Freiburg, but they shouldn’t be underestimated away to Brentford this weekend.

The Eagles have won six and lost just one of their last nine away London derby matches in the Premier League and can win three derbies in a row on the road in the same top-flight season for the first time, as they target a first league double over Brentford since 1957-58.

Beto bouncing

  • If Everton’s Beto scores, he will have double the amount of Premier League goals (6) in his last six games than his previous 27 games combined (3 goals).

Everton will be bidding to get their push for Europe back on track following a five game winless streak. They will look to the in-form Beta to continue his hot-streak in front of goal, with the striker enjoying a run of five goals in his last five games. If he scores at home to Sunderland on Sunday he will have double the amount of Premier League goals (6) in his last six games than his previous 27 games combined (3 goals).

Sunderland, meanwhile, will be looking to keep Beto quiet as they target a 12th Premier League clean sheet of the season, which would be the most by a promoted club since Leeds in 2020-21.

Sou-Czech

  • West Ham’s Tomas Soucek (49) needs one more goal or assist to become only the second Czech player to register 50 Premier League goal involvements.

West Ham can pile the pressure on relegation rivals Tottenham if they claim an important win away to Newcastle. The Hammers beat the Toon earlier in the season and will now attempt to complete only their third Premier League double in this fixture, after 1998-99 and 2018-19.

West Ham midfielder Tomas Soucek has scored a career-high five league goals against Newcastle, including three goals in his last five appearances in this fixture. He will hope to make a telling impact this weekend as he looks to become only the second Czech player to register 50 goal Premier League involvements (currently on 49).

Gyokeres hunting trio

  • Viktor Gyokeres can become only the third Arsenal player to score 10+ Premier League home goals in their first season with the club after Thierry Henry in 1999-00 (11), Olivier Giroud in 2012-13 (10), and Alexandre Lacazette in 2017-18 (11).

Arsenal sit two points clear at the top and know that victory in both of their final two matches would secure the title. A win at home to Burnley, combined with Manchester City failing to beat Bournemouth, could even see them crowned champions as early as Tuesday.

Arsenal have won 14 of their 18 Premier League matches at the Emirates this season and are unbeaten in 44 games against promoted sides (W39 D5) since November 2010.

Viktor Gyokeres has scored three goals in his last four appearances across all competitions and could become just the third Arsenal player to reach 10+ Premier League home goals in a debut season, following Thierry Henry (11 in 1999-00), Olivier Giroud (10 in 2012-13), and Alexandre Lacazette (11 in 2017-18).

Meanwhile, relegated Burnley have little recent form to inspire confidence, having won just one of their last 27 Premier League matches, 18 of which they’ve lost.

City still chasing

  • Manchester City can make it 17 wins from 18 Premier League meetings with Bournemouth, extending the most dominant head-to-head record in Premier League history among fixtures played at least 10 times.

Manchester City kept their title hopes alive and kicking with a 3-0 win at home to Crystal Palace, but Pep Guardiola’s treble-chasers could find themselves five points behind Arsenal by the time they play next. Should, as expected, the Gunners beat Burnley, then Man City will need a win away to Bournemouth to take the fight to the final day.

Manchester City have dominated this fixture, winning 16 of their last 17 Premier League meetings with Bournemouth, giving them a remarkable 94.1% win rate; the highest one club has against another in Premier League history among fixtures played 10+ times.

However, that solitary defeat did come on the south coast last season, and the Cherries are currently enjoying a club-record 16 game unbeaten run in the Premier League, as they prepare for their final home game with Andoni Iraola at the helm.

Bournemouth’s Rayan, who has scored in his last three games, could become only the fourth teenager to find the back of the net in four successive Premier League appearances after Robbie Fowler, Nicolas Anelka, and Francis Jeffers.

Battle of the Bridge 2.0

  • Chelsea could lose five successive home matches for the first time in their league history.

Chelsea and Tottenham renew their rivalry at Stamford Bridge in the final fixture of Premier League gameweek 37. Chelsea have the chance to further damage Tottenham’s survival bid, while Spurs could condemn the Blues to five consecutive league home defeats for the first time in their history.

Chelsea are currently stuck in a seven-game winless streak, taking just one point from the last 21 available. If they fail to beat Tottenham, it would mark their longest winless league run since a 10-match stretch between December 1994 and February 1995.

Despite their struggles, Chelsea can draw on their recent dominance over Spurs with 10 wins from the last 12 meetings in all competitions. Victory here would make it six straight wins in this fixture for the first time since between 2000 and 2002.

Tottenham’s record in this clash remains poor: only against Manchester United (40) have Spurs lost more Premier League matches than they have against Chelsea (38). They have also managed just one win in 33 Premier League visits to Stamford Bridge, losing 23 of those games.

However, Spurs are unbeaten in their last four league outings and, having won back-to-back away matches, they now have the opportunity to secure three successive away league victories for the first time since 2000. A win on Tuesday would also mean Tottenham have collected more points from their last four matches (10) than they managed across their previous 18 combined (9).
