Chelsea 1-1 Arsenal player ratings: Battle at the Bridge ends with spoils shared
The points were shared at Stamford Bridge this afternoon. Chelsea were on course to lose a third consecutive Premier League match against Arsenal, but Pedro Neto cancelled out Gabriel Martinelli’s opener.
Both sides had opportunities to win the game, but neither managed to add a second, meaning they headed into the November international break level on 19 points through 11 matches played.

It leaves a dent in Arsenal’s title aspirations, as league-leaders Liverpool are nine points ahead. Conversely had you told Chelsea they’d be in third after 11 matches before the Premier League season began, they’d probably be pleased.
But how did the players perform in gameweek 11’s biggest match? Read on for our Chelsea 1-1 Arsenal player ratings.
Chelsea player ratings
Robert Sánchez: 54%
He should have done better for the Arsenal goal, but Sanchez would end up making two saves (both from inside the penalty area). His long passing accuracy of 26.67%, didn’t help his team, though, as possession would frequently return to Arteta’s side.
Malo Gusto: 59%
A license to get forward resulted in Gusto posting three touches in the opposition box, although he missed a close-range header, which would have put Chelsea into the lead.
Wesley Fofana: 66%
He made a game-high six clearances, but that’s not all; Fofana won all his aerial and ground duels while posting an impressive 93.65% retention rate.
Levi Colwill: 62%
His below-par retention rate (83.33%) impacted his final score. It also didn’t help that he won 40% of his ground duels, but there were lots of positives: 100% aerial duel rate and completed five long passes, the most by a centre-back in Sunday’s action.
Marc Cucurella: 58%
A yellow card would tarnish what proved to be an excellent outing, especially when facing an in-form winger like Bukayo Saka, who he dealt with well. Cucurella won all three attempted tackles while registering three interceptions, but two unsuccessful touches plus that booking prevented his score from being any higher.
Moisés Caicedo: 69%
Another monstrous display from the Premier League’s best ball-winning midfielder. He made the most tackles (3) as well as an interception while he completed seven passes into the final third, the most of any Chelsea player.
Roméo Lavia: 56%
He didn’t play the final 22 minutes but when Lavia was on the pitch, he registered an impressive 96.15% open play passing accuracy, less than three accurate forward passes and being dispossessed a similar amount of time would not see him score any higher.
Noni Madueke: 69%
No one in Blue completed more than one take-ons than Madueke, who produced three on his own (with a 100% success rate). He also made four ball recoveries, including a high turnover (meaning he won possession in open play within 40 metres of Arsenal’s goal. Attacking-wise, Madueke created one chance and registered four shots on goal, but none were on target.
Cole Palmer: 59%
One successful dribble from a total of four was unlike Palmer, who struggled to get a foothold in this game. He created one chance and had four shots on goal, but only one tested Raya in goal.
Pedro Neto: 77%
In his breakthrough performance at the Bridge, Neto created two chances and scored the equaliser. Given that he occasionally had White and Timber on the ropes, it’s strange to think he didn’t technically complete a single take-on. As you can see, that didn’t stop him achieving a game-high final rating. His creativity and defensive output balanced things out, making four ball recoveries and winning one tackle.
Pedro Neto's game by numbers vs. Arsenal:
38 touches
4 crosses
4x possession won
3 duels won
3 touches in opp. box
3 shots
2 chances created
2 fouls won

Nicolas Jackson: 48%
Jackson won key fouls in dangerous areas but wasn’t able to make himself a constant threat. He ended up with one shot on target from two attempts, which looks worse when you consider he posted five touches in the Arsenal penalty area.

Arsenal player ratings
David Raya: 59%
He never looked susceptible to crosses, successfully claiming five. Only Ipswich goalkeeper Arijanet Muric, who faced Tottenham before kick-off, had a better return in that respect today. Raya’s passing was strong again (90% accuracy), but a lack of a clean sheet inevitably let down his rating.
Ben White: 61%
Another marauding right-back, with Ben White matching Gusto and also having three touches in the Chelsea box, as well as making seven passes into the final third. But this was an all-round performance, with the Arsenal full-back registering three interceptions that led to possession retained, three aerial duels won and two clearances.
William Saliba: 60%
He was a perfect two-for-two for attempted tackles, but one aerial duel success from three limited his score from being higher.
Gabriel Magalhães: 62%
No one in an Arsenal jersey won possession (seven times) on more occasions than Gabriel, plus he blocked two shots, though what let him down was an 89.61% retention well below his usual standards.
Jurriën Timber: 54%
He was dribbled past once, with the Dutch international struggling against whichever flying Chelsea winger came down his flank.
Thomas Partey: 66%
Back in familiar surroundings, Partey registered an impressive 11 final third entries while succeeding in every tackle he attempted. He also completed the most passes into the final third (8) of the game.
Declan Rice: 55%
Perhaps he was still feeling the knock he sustained at Newcastle last week, but this was far from a vintage Rice performance in Arsenal’s midfield. Though he won all his attempted tackles, Rice produced a 60% forward passing accuracy and won possession less than three times in the middle third.
Bukayo Saka: 55%
From a visitor’s perspective, all eyes were on him, but Saka often played on the periphery, succeeding in half his attempted dribbles and three of his nine total duels. He created no chances, nor did he hit the target from two attempts.
Martin Ødegaard: 70%
How badly have Arsenal missed Ødegaard, who finished today’s game having created four chances, one of which led to Martnelli’s opener. He made another big chance, but that could not be converted.
Gabriel Martinelli: 64%
He scored the game’s opener and had a 100% take-on success in what perhaps should have been an even better day for Martinelli, who missed another golden chance.
Kai Havertz: 42%
Had a goal disallowed for offside (one of four times Chelsea’s backline caught him out) but registered no other shots on goal. Havertz would create one chance, but one touch in the opposition box is not cutting it.
How do Squawka player ratings work?
Squawka’s new player rating system is wholly stats-based. Player scores are based on the numbers they put up across a range of on-ball events, from goals scored to tackles won.
We tailored each score to the players’ respective positions using extensive research and expertise. For example, forwards are rated on metrics like shots on target, touches in the opposition box, and big chances created. Meanwhile, centre-backs are rewarded for winning aerial duels, making blocks, successful long-range passes, etc.
