Chelsea get their quest for FA Cup glory underway when they host non-league side Chesterfield on Saturday at 5:30pm (UK time).
The Blues were beaten finalists last season, losing 1-0 to Leicester City at Wembley and will be hoping they can go one further this time around – adding what would be their ninth FA Cup. At this stage last season, Chelsea beat League Two side Morecambe en route to the final, but their opponents this weekend are from one tier lower. National League side Chesterfield entered this season’s FA Cup in the fourth qualifying round and have seen off Curzon Ashton, Southend and Salford City to set up this Stamford Bridge clash.

Chelsea team news
Chelsea suffered more blows in midweek with Thiago Silva and N’Golo Kante testing positive for COVID, adding to their list of absentees. Ben Chilwell is out for the season and Reece James and Trevoh Chalobah are also injured and will play no part, nor will Edouard Mendy who is on Africa Cup of Nations duty with Senegal. Cesar Azpilicueta came off injured in the EFL Cup win over Tottenham and while Thomas Tuchel has confirmed it was only cramp, he may not be risked, nor will Kai Havertz or Andreas Christensen – so we could see four at the back for the second consecutive match.
Chelsea predicted XI: Arrizabalaga; Simons, Sarr, Rudiger, Vale; Loftus-Cheek, Barkley; Ziyech, Pulisic, Hudson-Odoi; Werner.
Chesterfield team news
Jack Clarke is the only confirmed absentee for Chesterfield who will undoubtedly line up with their strongest possible XI, including former Chelsea academy player Manny Oyeleke (leaving the Blues aged 14).
Most recent Chesterfield XI: Loach; Miller, Whittle, Gunning, Williams, King; Oyeleke, Weston, Mandeville; Khan, Tshimanga.
Scoreline prediction: Chelsea 5-0 Chesterfield
