2021-22 Odds on Manchester United

Manchester United will be looking to go one better in the 2021-22 Premier League campaign after losing out on the title to rivals Manchester City last term.

An underwhelming start to the season was highlighted by the 6-1 defeat at Old Trafford to Tottenham Hotspur. However, the Red Devils grew in confidence over the course of the campaign to earn themselves second place.

It was their ‘noisy neighbours’ who got their hands on the Premier League crown and despite improved form from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men, any late title charge fell short as Pep Guardiola’s side ended the season with a 12-point gap on their rivals.

The Red Devils’ campaign came crashing to a disappointing end in Gdansk; United tasting defeat after an enthralling penalty shootout in their Europa League final clash with Villarreal, meaning the search for a first trophy under Solskjaer goes on.

Edinson Cavani ended Premier League campaign with an impressive return of 10 goals despite not playing the full season at Old Trafford. United have been able to secure the Uruguayan’s services for another season, in which he is expected to spearhead their attack.

The attack was further bolstered by the signing of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund. Could he be the missing ingredient that will help deliver silverware at Old Trafford?

Best Odds on Manchester United to Win The League

Manchester United 2021-22 Premier League predictions

The signing of Sancho will certainly provide United with an extra attacking threat; the England international grabbed eight goals and 12 assists for Dortmund last term.

And with Raphael Varane reportedly set to arrive from Real Madrid, the French international defender will likely line up alongside skipper Harry Maguire in the heart of the back line. You certainly wouldn’t expect opposing strikers to profit too much from those two.

Meanwhile, question marks will surround their goalkeeping situation with David de Gea and Dean Henderson set to battle it out for the spot between the sticks.

Despite ending the 2020-21 season as the closest rivals to Man City, Solskjaer’s men are clearly not fancied among the bookies to go one better this season with the Citizens, Liverpool and Chelsea all offered at shorter prices.

But with plenty of quality in depth across all areas of the field, could this be the year that they finally get their hands on the Premier League trophy once more?

Manchester United top scorer odds

There is plenty of excitement when you look at the attacking options available to Solskjaer and United. Here, we assess some of their chances of claiming this season’s golden boot.

Edinson Cavani Golden Boot odds

Though now in his mid-30s, Cavani demonstrated last season that class is permanent with his return of 10 goals.

Back at Old Trafford for another year, the Uruguayan will certainly fancy building on that tally – especially with service being provided by the likes of Sancho, Fernandes and Marcus Rashford to name a few.

If United are to genuinely challenge for the title, he will play a key part and Paddy Power are offering a generous 66/1 on him topping the goalscoring charts.

Bruno Fernandes Golden Boot odds

Fernandes top-scored for United in the Premier League last season with 18 goals, nine of which came from the penalty spot.

Pulling the strings from midfield, the Portuguese appears to be getting better all the time and it would be foolish to bet against him improving on that this year.

He was only five goals shy of golden boot winner Harry Kane last term, so it may be worth a punt on him leading the way this time around at 25/1 with Paddy Power.

Jadon Sancho Golden Boot odds

A young English player that left to prove himself in Germany, Sancho certainly did that during his four-year stint with Dortmund.

Indeed, the winger was directly involved in 20 or more goals in each of his last three seasons with the Bundesliga side.

Sancho will relish the opportunity to test himself in the Premier League and should almost certainly chip in with his fair share of goals.

But could he claim the golden boot? Tempting odds of 50/1 from SkyBet say he can.

Manchester United Odds to win the Champions League

It is now 13 years since that night in Moscow, when United last donned the Champions League crown.

Since Ferguson’s retirement in 2013, the Red Devils have only reached the quarter-finals of Europe’s premier club competition on two occasions.

Although, they did lift the Europa League in 2017, while a penalty shootout defeat by Villarreal denied them in last season’s final.

That run to the showpiece certainly demonstrated their credentials on the continent and given the quality at Solskjaer’s disposal, there is no reason they cannot do the same in this competition.

Therefore, it is worth a punt on them going all the way at 14/1 with Paddy Power.
