Roma welcome Sassuolo to the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday 7 November, 7.45pm (UK time), with Gian Piero Gasperini‘s third-placed side chasing a win that would keep them right on the heels of the Serie A leaders.
We have weighed up the form, the head-to-head and the bet365 markets to land on our best bets, and with Roma’s miserly defence meeting the division’s leakiest, goals at one end at least look likely.
Premium Tips
Here are our two favourite Premium Tips for Roma vs Sassuolo, taken at the best prices we can find across our featured bookmakers.
| Premium Tip | Odds | Why we’re backing it |
|---|---|---|
| Matias Soule to score anytime | 6/4 (Ladbrokes) | Roma have scored 28 goals already, the most in the division, and they come up against a Sassuolo side shipping goals at an alarming rate, with 26 conceded in 10 games. Donyell Malen leads the line and has eight for the season, but he is as short as 8/15 to score. Matias Soule, cutting in from the right and weighing in with three goals of his own, looks the better bet at 6/4 against a defence this generous. |
| Gianluca Mancini to be carded | 10/3 (Betfred) | Gianluca Mancini is one of the most committed defenders in the division and rarely gets through a game without a tangle or two. He throws himself into challenges, is quick to protect a lead and is no stranger to a word with the referee. Even in a game Roma are expected to control, 10/3 about the Italian being shown a yellow card is well worth a second look. |

How Roma go into the game
Roma sit third in Serie A on 24 points, unbeaten in their opening 10 games with seven wins and three draws. Gian Piero Gasperini’s side have conceded just 10 goals in 10 games and scored a healthy 28 at the other end, a blend of solidity and firepower that has them pushing hard at the top.
At the Olimpico they have been excellent, with four wins and a draw from five, scoring 14 and conceding just five. That home record makes them strong favourites against a side struggling badly on the road.
Last time out they ran riot away at Udinese, winning 5-2, and before that they thrashed Cagliari 4-2 at home. A pulsating 3-3 draw away at Napoli and a goalless draw at Como have been rare blemishes on a fine start. Donyell Malen has been the star with eight goals, with Matias Soule, Niccolo Pisilli and Rodrigo Mora all chipping in with three apiece.
How Sassuolo go into the game
Sassuolo sit 17th on eight points, with two wins, two draws and six defeats from their 10 games. Alberto Aquilani‘s side have the worst defensive record in the league, shipping 26 goals, though they have at least kept scoring, with 16 of their own.
On the road they have been dreadful, losing four and drawing one of their five away games, scoring six and conceding 12. That away record is the chief worry here, with trips to the stronger sides rarely going well.
Last time out they were beaten 4-2 at home by Fiorentina, and that came straight after a chastening 6-2 home defeat to Lazio. A run of four straight losses has left them in trouble, with only a 1-1 home draw against Milan offering any recent comfort. Vasilije Adzic leads their scoring on three, with Armand Lauriente, Sebastiano Esposito and Domenico Berardi all on two.

Roma vs Sassuolo head-to-head
| Date | Home | Score | Away |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10/01/26 | Roma | 2-0 | Sassuolo |
| 26/10/25 | Sassuolo | 0-1 | Roma |
| 17/03/24 | Roma | 1-0 | Sassuolo |
| 03/12/23 | Sassuolo | 1-2 | Roma |
| 12/03/23 | Roma | 3-4 | Sassuolo |
Roma have dominated this fixture, winning four of the last five league meetings. Sassuolo’s only success in that run was a wild 4-3 win at the Olimpico in March 2023, and recent meetings have tended to be tight, low-scoring Roma wins.

Roma vs Sassuolo score prediction
Everything points to a comfortable home win. Roma are unbeaten, defensively excellent and brimming with attacking options, while Sassuolo have the worst defensive record in the division and have been poor on their travels. Recent meetings have often been tight, but with Sassuolo shipping goals so freely this season, we expect Roma to find the net more than once. Sassuolo rarely fail to score, so a home win with a Sassuolo consolation looks the likeliest outcome, and Anthony Eadson is backing a comfortable Roma victory. Score prediction: Roma 3-1 Sassuolo.
