Newcastle vs Arsenal: Predictions
After slipping perilously close to the Premier League relegation zone, Newcastle have taken eight points from their last four games to move nine points clear of the relegation zone. During that time, the Magpies have drawn with Liverpool and Tottenham, while beating high-flying West Ham and relegation rivals Burnley. Given 18th-place Fulham’s struggles and remaining fixtures, Steve Bruce will feel like he needs just a few more points to secure safety for another season.
Arsenal head to the North East off the back of a 2-1 defeat to Villarreal in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final, while they also suffered a damaging 1-0 defeat at home to Everton in the Premier League last week. Mikel Arteta’s men have effectively been ruled out of the race for European qualification through their league position and might well rotate his side to keep Arsenal’s biggest stars fresh for the visit of Villarreal next week.
