Southampton vs Leicester: Predictions
Southampton and Leicester City appear to be finishing the season in rather different ways. While Leicester City come into this game on the back of a three-match winning streak that seems to have consolidated their position in the top four, Southampton have lost their last three and slipped to 15th in the table as a result.
Only two of those three games for both sides have been in the Premier League however, with the other being the FA Cup semi-final that the two teams played out at Wembley Stadium a fortnight ago. The Foxes ran out 1-0 winners in a rather drab affair that time around and they’ll expect to earn the victory this Friday night too.
After a last-gasp penalty prevented the Saints from taking a point on their trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this week, manager Ralph Hassenhuttl will hope his side can bounce back to form before the end of the season and this is a game that he will particularly want to win having seen his team fall to an embarrassing 0-9 defeat in this fixture last term.
Leicester’s Champions League spot slipped away from them in the final stages of last season, but this year the Foxes look more determined than ever to secure a top four finish and after those back-to-back wins over West Brom and Crystal Palace in the last week, confidence will be high as they head to Hampshire with just a handful of matches remaining.
