In this article, you’ll find the SBK sign up offer explained in detail, plus information on topics like SBK in-play betting, live chat, payment methods and terms and conditions. But if SBK is still new to you, let us give you some background on this slick sportsbook app.
Jason Trost, a former equities trader from the States, started SBK and is disrupting the market with his new kind of betting app. Breaking the trend the big boy bookmakers started of building a mammoth betting site on desktop and then introducing a mobile app years later, SBK – a sportsbook which follows its parents company, betting exchange Smarkets – is a mobile-only gambling app.
One of SBK’s selling points is its significantly better odds, on average, for sports, politics, and popular culture events than rival bookmakers. SBK only takes 2% commission which allows them to offer better value to the bettor. Its other special feature is its smart use of technology.
SBK uses the same resources as Smarkets Exchange to find the best odds for punters, which they can view in decimal (e.g. 3.00), percentage (e.g. 50%), American (e.g. +100) or fractional (e.g. 5/1) format. And you can check in the SBK mobile betting app if you’re getting better odds than elsewhere.
The SBK mobile betting app has its HQ in London and was launched in August 2019 in the UK before it entered the US market via Colorado in June 2020. This was 10 years after Smarkets Exchange went live in the UK. Find out more about the betting app and the SBK sign up offer in this SBK review.
SBK Sports UK Review
SBK separates its markets into favourite topics, including football, horse racing, politics and tennis, and then ‘All other topics’ which includes a range of other sports like American football, esports and golf. Greyhound racing is there too, alongside MMA, motorsports and darts. In addition, there are sections for TV and entertainment, Olympics and current affairs.
As we said previously, the usual suspects in sports are involved like football, baseball and boxing, plus there are special markets you might not find at other bookmakers, such as politics and current affairs. Despite being a relatively niche betting market, politics sits among the ‘Favourite topics’ in the SBK mobile betting app. So does football, which currently has 397 markets, horse racing with 150 markets, and tennis currently with 163 markets. As you can see, there is plenty on which to use your SBK sign up offer.
A nice feature of the SBK mobile betting app is that you can follow other punters’ luck via the ‘Tips’ tab. You might recognise some of them too – popular Fortnite streamer Ninja is betting there. Sadly for him, he’s lost four of his last five bets. ‘Getyourtipsout’ is a popular account too, with 5,376 followers.
Once you follow a fellow punter, you’ll see how well their bets do. And maybe for some betting inspiration, you can also just look at the latest lucky bettors in the Tips section via the ‘Wins’ tab.
If you’re into in-play betting, there’s ample opportunity to bet live and unlock the SBK sign up offer. Earlier in this SBK review we mentioned that the SBK mobile betting app has a cool LIVE markets feature – there’s a LIVE widget in the Browse section and a ‘Live’ tab from the home screen. The SBK in-play section is then divided into tabs relating to current markets.
In this section, you’ll see markets divided into different leagues and you can click ‘see all’ to see all the fixtures in those competitions.
The SBK mobile betting app has a special ‘Auto Acca’ feature which lets you choose between three and five selections and then you swipe down to spin for a randomly-generated accumulator. One thing we liked about this is that the auto acca can include selections from different sports and other markets.
For example, you might be presented with an auto acca which includes an Asian handicap in football, an esports match winner, and the winning player in a tennis game. If you don’t like the selections, you can swipe to re-spin, or you can add it to your bet slip. The Auto Acca feature is fun to play even if you don’t place one of the bets it generates! But with the SBK sign up offer up your sleeve, you can bet £20 risk-free.
Alternatively, you can make acca selections by adding them individually to your bet slip which sits in the bottom right corner. Click the bet slip and there you can pick your stake amount. A cool feature of SBK mobile betting is you can toggle individual selections from being part of the accumulator to single bets, while the rest remain multiples. If you want to clear your betting slip and start again, just click ‘Clear’ in the top right. You can also see your balance from the bet slip screen.
Unfortunately, you won’t be able to use the SBK sign up offer on virtual sports. SBK covers esports but no virtuals.
User Experience & Interface
In the SBK mobile betting app, from the Browse menu, there’s a cool ‘LIVE’ widget at the top of the page, accompanied by a lighting bolt, which takes you to, you guessed it, live markets. So if you don’t really know what you want to bet on, you can just bet on whatever’s happening at the moment. What about Rivers United FC v Nasarawa United in the Nigerian Premier League or the Hurdle race at Fairyhouse?
One nice feature of the live betting on horse racing with SBK is the weather and course conditions information. For example, the Fairyhouse hurdle race was to be run in overcast conditions, on a soft to heavy course.
In addition, in the LIVE section in Browse, SBK show icons of some of the sports that are available to bet on now.
These icons appear at the top of the screen and you can click them to see their related live markets. It’s an example of the attention to detail put into making the SBK app.
As well as the Tips tab we mentioned earlier in this SBK review, you can offer your own tips on various markets. For example, when you select a market, there’s a ‘+Tip’ speech bubble at the top of the screen where you can offer your own betting wisdom to help other punters.
This SBK review is all about the mobile sportsbook and the SBK sign up offer as no SBK betting site exists. It’s all mobile. If you want to use a desktop bookmaker that’s similar to SBK, you could visit Smarkets. The makers of Smarkets created the SBK app too and it’s available on desktop and mobile devices.
Having said that, the SBK mobile betting app is modern, easy to use, and visually appealing. Its Popular, Tips, Live and Auto Acca tabs help you navigate the app easily, and other smart features like the option to change the betting odds display format, shows the makers of SBK aren’t messing around.
SBK Existing Customer Promotions
SBK does not currently have any existing customer promotions but recently there was a £5 SBK free bet available from December 23 to January 4. It was a kind of festive present and could be used on single and multiple bets.
In addition, SBK had a £10 risk free offer for existing customers who would receive up to £10 back if their bet or bets lost. Like the £5 SBK free bet, this offer was available during the 2020/2021 festive period and new year.
Best Odds Guaranteed
It’s not necessarily a case of the best guaranteed odds at SBK but you can count on them to have better odds than their competitors, most of the time. SBK constantly compare their odds to other leading bookmakers, such as Bet365, SkyBet, Unibet and Paddy Power, to name a few.
They use advanced technology from the Smarkets Exchange to track changes in market prices and generally offer you superior value, which makes the £20 risk-free SBK sign up offer even more attractive. SBK aim to make their money through volume of bets, not high margins from market prices, which ensures they can offer the punter better prices.
Moreover, SBK Price+ is a feature in the SBK mobile betting app which tells you how SBK’s odds compare to those of competitors. It will tell you what percentage of bets on a particular event have superior odds to other bookmakers. If you see a green triangle, it means SBK’s odds are the best.
SBK Casino UK
Unfortunately, there is no SBK casino, however, you can enjoy the entertainment of betting on markets as wide-ranging as politics, esports and current affairs. There’s also an SBK Auto Acca feature which gives you unlimited SBK free spins to create the perfect random multiple bet. Just swipe for your SBK free spins because you never know what selections will appear!
SBK is marketed as a sportsbook app, which also includes politics, current affairs and TV and entertainment markets, but don’t give up hope about a potential SBK casino app in the future. Smarkets, makers of SBK, have shown they understand the betting world and we’re sure they could make an excellent SBK casino app if they wanted to. After all, they are partnered in the US with casino developer and operator Full House Resorts.
There’s another reason to be impressed and another reason to use the SBK sign up offer. SBK’s help centre offers a range of contact options, including email – [email protected] – Twitter, phone, post and live chat. Considering how modern the SBK mobile betting app is, it’s a pleasant surprise to see that the app offers users both traditional and new ways to contact their customer support team.
SBK live chat, unlike many online bookmakers, is super easy to find and use on the SBK app. Just head to your ‘Account’ in the bottom right corner and scroll down to ‘Help Topics’. There you’ll find the option to ‘Live chat with customer support’. Just click it and you’ll be asked what help you require. The SBK live chat service is easy to use and fast.
If you choose the ‘Contact us’ option, below live chat, you’ll be shown all the other customer service options, including the support email address, Twitter handle, phone number and postal address. You can also find these contact details via the SBK help pages through your browser. So if you have a problem activating the SBK sign up offer, don’t hesitate to use SBK live chat.
In conclusion, SBK’s customer service through their mobile app is really impressive due to its high functionality and ease of use. It’s one of, if not the, slickest help centres we’ve seen on a mobile betting app.
