Arsenal and Liverpool meet in a Premier League clash on Wednesday that will have a big impact on the remainder of the season (8:15pm kick-off UK time).
Liverpool will be looking to capitalise on Manchester City dropping points on Monday and have the possibility to close the gap to just a point. However, hosts Arsenal are in good form and will be aiming to tighten their grip on fourth place, currently one point clear of fifth-placed Manchester United with three games in hand.

Arsenal team news vs Liverpool: A practically fully-fit squad
- Ins: None
- Outs: None
- Doubts: Takehiro Tomiyasu
Mikel Arteta will be extremely happy with the status of his squad as Takehiro Tomiyasu is the only absentee for the Gunners. But it’s not a guaranteed absence.
In his pre-match press conference, Arteta revealed Arsenal have been careful with bringing Tomiyasu back from the calf injury that had seen him miss the past six games, but they would wait to see how he trained on Tuesday before making a decision.
Predicted Arsenal XI vs Liverpool:
- Ramsdale; Cedric, White, Gabriel, Tierney; Xhaka, Partey; Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli; Lacazette (4-2-3-1).
Liverpool team news vs Arsenal: Klopp expects “tough cookie” Salah to feature
- Ins: Ibrahima Konate
- Outs: James Milner, Kostas Tsimikas
- Doubts: None
Liverpool will be boosted by the return of Ibrahima Konate to the squad after injury but the Frenchman is unlikely to break up the centre-back partnership of Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip. James Milner and Kostas Tsimikas are expected to miss out, but Jurgen Klopp has spoken on the availability of Mohamed Salah.
The Egyptian had to come off midway through the second half of Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Brighton at the weekend with a knock, just four minutes after he scored his 20th Premier League goal of the season. There were fears that the knock would rule Salah out of the midweek trip to London, but Klopp had good news for supporters, saying it “looks like” he should be okay.
“Mo is a tough cookie and he was only a little bit cut, we were quite lucky with it,” he told reporters.
“It was swollen, painful, yesterday a little less swollen, less painful. Now I got the message before the press conference that Mo is ready to train and we will see how that looks.”
Predicted Liverpool XI vs Arsenal:
- Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Keita, Fabinho, Thiago; Salah, Mane, Diaz (4-3-3).
