In-form Genoa put a three-game winning run on the line when AC Milan visit the Stadio Luigi Ferraris on Sunday, with kick-off at 2pm UK time. Anthony Eadson’s Genoa vs AC Milan predictions, best bets and score prediction are below.

Premium Tips

A tight contest looks likely, and Milan’s in-form midfielder is the value pick in the scorer market.

Premium TipOddsWhy we’re backing it
Under 2.5 goals8/11 (Betway)Genoa’s revival has been built on solid defending. They have conceded only once during their three-game winning run, with clean sheets against Venezia and Juventus. Moreover, six of their 10 Serie A matches have produced fewer than three goals. AC Milan are unbeaten on the road, yet three of their five away games have stayed under 2.5 goals, including 1-1 draws at Juventus and Sassuolo. Genoa have also failed to score in three of their league games. Both sides have plenty to lose here, so a cagey afternoon looks the likeliest script.
Adrien Rabiot to score anytime19/5 (Ladbrokes)Adrien Rabiot has five Serie A goals from just 576 minutes this season. That makes him AC Milan’s top scorer, and he has netted in five of his eight league appearances. Furthermore, he has scored in each of his last three outings, against Sassuolo, Atalanta and Inter. He played the full 90 minutes in the 3-1 derby win and is named in Milan’s predicted XI. With Tomori, Saelemaekers and Loftus-Cheek all missing, Rabiot’s late runs into the box will be vital. The 19/5 from Ladbrokes is a big price.

How Genoa go into the game

Sitting 11th on 13 points, Genoa arrive in their best form of the season. They have won three Serie A games in a row, beating Venezia 1-0 and Juventus 2-0 at home. Last time out, they won 2-1 at Lecce on 1 November, with Milutin Osmajic and Junior Messias on target.

However, the start of the campaign was rough. Genoa lost five of their first seven league games, including home defeats to Napoli and Como. They have now won three straight at the Ferraris, and their home record reads three wins, one draw and two defeats. Goals remain scarce, with only 10 scored in 10 matches.

Osmajic leads the way with four league goals, while Messias has chipped in with two. Meanwhile, Leo Ostigard is one booking away from a suspension, so he will need to stay disciplined against Milan’s forwards.

How AC Milan go into the game

AC Milan sit fifth on 21 points, seven behind leaders Lazio. They have won three of their last four league games, and the latest was a 3-1 home win over Inter on 31 October. Christian Pulisic, Adrien Rabiot and Diego Moreira all scored in the derby.

The only blemish in that run was a 4-2 home defeat to Bologna. On the road, Milan are unbeaten, with two wins and three draws from five away games. Those draws came at Juventus, Lazio and Sassuolo, so they are often held on their travels. Even so, they have scored in every league match this season.

Rabiot leads Milan’s scoring with five goals, ahead of Alphadjo Cisse and Moreira on four each. Goncalo Ramos has started all 10 league games and leads the side with 25 shots. However, the visitors have a lengthy absence list, with Gabbia, Tomori, Saelemaekers, Loftus-Cheek and Chukwueze all ruled out.

Milan have had the upper hand in this fixture. Genoa are winless in the last six meetings, with three defeats and three draws. However, every one of the last five meetings was either drawn or decided by a single goal. The last two games at the Ferraris both ended in 2-1 wins for the visitors.
