Premium Tips

Here are our two Premium Tips for Republic of Ireland vs Austria, built on the latest form, goal records and team news.

Premium TipOddsWhy we’re backing it
Both teams to score10/11 (Betfred)Austria have not kept a clean sheet in their last six matches, conceding against Jordan, Argentina, Algeria, Spain, Israel and Kosovo. Both teams have scored in four of those six games, and Ralf Rangnick’s side have netted 12 goals in that run, with three in each of the four games in which they found the net. Ireland arrive in decent attacking form too, scoring 10 goals across their last five matches, although five of those came in a friendly win over Grenada. Troy Parrott has seven goals in Ireland’s last five competitive games, while Jack Moylan has four in his last four international appearances. Austria are also without the suspended Kevin Danso, with Paul Wanner and Nikolas Veratschnig back at their clubs after picking up knocks against Kosovo.
Republic of Ireland to win13/5 (BoyleSports)Ireland are unbeaten in eight games at the Aviva Stadium, winning five and drawing three, and have kept clean sheets in each of their last four home matches. That run includes a 2-0 win over Portugal in November 2025, when Parrott scored both goals. Heimir Hallgrimsson’s side have lost just once in 90 minutes in their last 10 games, the 1-0 defeat in Kosovo. Austria come to Dublin short of experience, with Marcel Sabitzer taking a break from international duty, David Alaba left out and Marko Arnautovic retired from international football. Michael Gregoritsch is also a doubt with an ankle injury, while Austria have conceded in six straight games.

How Republic of Ireland go into the game

The Republic of Ireland opened Group B3 with a 1-0 defeat in Pristina, where Vedat Muriqi struck in the 83rd minute for Kosovo. Hallgrimsson’s side responded with a 3-0 win over Israel in Debrecen on Sunday, with Troy Parrott, Adam Idah and Jack Moylan all scoring inside the first 25 minutes. That leaves Ireland level on points with second-placed Kosovo.

Captain Nathan Collins misses out through injury, as do Evan Ferguson, Josh Cullen, Mikey Johnston, Jack Taylor and Jamie McGrath. Stoke City midfielder Bosun Lawal has joined the squad after recovering from a hamstring strain, while goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu is back training with the group after sitting out the Israel game.

How Austria go into the game

Austria have made a perfect start under Ralf Rangnick, beating Israel 3-1 in Linz before seeing off Kosovo by the same score in Vienna on Sunday. Those wins followed a World Cup campaign that ended with a 3-0 defeat to eventual champions Spain in the round of 32, and they now sit three points clear at the top of the group.

Kevin Danso is suspended, while Paul Wanner and Nikolas Veratschnig have returned to their clubs after picking up knocks against Kosovo. Michael Gregoritsch is a doubt with an ankle injury, but Konrad Laimer is available again after an adductor problem. Marcel Sabitzer is taking a break from international duty and David Alaba was not selected.
