Coventry will look to draw inspiration from Sunderland, who won promotion via the Championship play-offs in 2025 before going on to defy expectations to finish 7th last season – above the likes of Chelsea and Newcastle – and in the process qualifying for the Conference League. As expected, the Premier League Golden Boot market is dominated by Erling Haaland, who is the 4/6 favourite to claim the award for a joint-record fourth time. Coventry were the Championship’s highest scorers last season with 97 league goals, but replicating that attacking output in the Premier League will be a far tougher task for Frank Lampard’s troops. Haji Wright, who finished third in last season’s Championship scoring charts, is priced out at 250/1, while his teammate Ellis Simms – who scored 13 league goals during the promotion campaign – is available at the same odds. Coventry City may have had a Golden Boot winner but they are yet to produce a PFA Players’ Player of the Year award victor.
