Coventry City odds to be relegated from the Premier League: Outright odds and predictions

Coventry City return to the Premier League for the 2026/27 season after ending a 25-year absence from the top flight by winning last season’s Championship title.

Below, you’ll find the latest outright odds for the Sky Blues, including their price to be relegated, achieve a top-half finish, and other key markets ahead of their long-awaited Premier League return.

Coventry City odds to be relegated from the 2026/27 Premier League: Outright odds and predictions

Last season Leeds and, notably, Sunderland bucked the trend which had seen all three promoted clubs relegated back down to the Championship at the first time of asking, which had occurred in both the 2024/25 and 2023/24 seasons. Burnley, on the other hand, weren’t so fortunate.

Yet, it will surprise few to see this season’s trio of newcomers installed as the three favourites to suffer an instant relegation. Hull City are the red-hot frontrunners for the drop ahead of Ipswich and Coventry, who can both be backed at 4/6.

These odds imply a 60% chance of the Sky Blues being relegated, something they’ll be determined to make a mockery of.

Coventry City odds to finish in the 2026/27 Premier League top half: Outright odds and predictions

Coventry will look to draw inspiration from Sunderland, who won promotion via the Championship play-offs in 2025 before going on to defy expectations to finish 7th last season – above the likes of Chelsea and Newcastle – and in the process qualifying for the Conference League. Fellow promoted side Leeds weren’t too far off the top-10 themselves, finishing 14th.

Coventry are on a real high right now, yet even the most optimistic of fans will admit that it would be a monumental achievement for the Sky Blues to defy the odds of 16/1 to secure a top-half standing, which gives them an implied probability of just 5.9%.

For starters, they’ve not played in the Premier League since 2000/01 and haven’t secured a top-half finish since they came 11th in 1993/94 when the league was made up of 22 teams.

Coventry City Golden Boot odds: Outright odds and predictions

As expected, the Premier League Golden Boot market is dominated by Erling Haaland, who is the 4/6 favourite to claim the award for a joint-record fourth time. Liverpool striker Alexander Isak is next in the betting at 9/1, followed by last season’s breakout striker Igor Thiago (10/1), Ollie Watkins (14/1), and Joao Pedro (16/1).

Coventry were the Championship’s highest scorers last season with 97 league goals, but replicating that attacking output in the Premier League will be a far tougher task for Frank Lampard’s troops. Haji Wright, who finished third in last season’s Championship scoring charts, is priced out at 250/1, while his teammate Ellis Simms – who scored 13 league goals during the promotion campaign – is available at the same odds. Both players would need to conjure up a simply unbelievable Premier League season to challenge the division’s elite goalscorers.

Coventry can, however, point to a previous Golden Boot winner in their history. Dion Dublin shared the Premier League’s top scorer award in the 1997/98 season after scoring 18 league goals, which saw him finish level with Chris Sutton and Michael Owen.

Coventry City PFA Player of the Year odds: Outright odds and predictions

Coventry City may have had a Golden Boot winner but they are yet to produce a PFA Players’ Player of the Year award victor. We are still waiting on the winner of the 2025/26 award – announced later in August – while recent winners include Mo Salah in 2024/25, Phil Foden in 2023/24, and Erling Haaland in 2022/23.

While unlikely to challenge for the award, keep an eye on the likes of Jack Rudoni, Matt Grimes, and Haji Wright who will each hope to sparkle for Coventry this season.

Coventry City Golden Glove odds: Outright odds and predictions

Arsenal’s David Raya has won the Golden Glove award in each of the last three seasons and it’s no surprise to see that the Arsenal keeper is the 11/10 favourite to make it four on the spin in 2026/27. Man City’s Gianluigi Donnarumma is next in the running at 2/1, followed by Liverpool’s Alisson Becker at 7/2.

At the time of writing, there are no odds priced up on any of the Coventry keepers, but expect that to change after the club revealed that their Championship title-winning keeper, Carl Rushworth, has signed a permanent contract following a hugely successful loan spell from Brighton.
