World Cup 2026 Group C: Key stats for Scotland vs Brazil & Morocco vs Haiti

The final two Group C fixtures of the 2026 World Cup takes centre at 11pm (UK time) on Wednesday night as Scotland seek to make history.

The Tartan Army, in their first World Cup since 1998, have the toughest of tasks against five-time winners Brazil in the Sunshine State, while 2022 semi-finalists Morocco take on already-eliminated Haiti.

Here are the key World Cup 2026 stats ahead of the two games.

Scotland vs Brazil

  • Scotland key stat: The Tartan Army can progress through to the World Cup knockout stages for the first time at the record ninth attempt.
  • Brazil key stat: Vinicius Junior could become the first Brazilian to score in three successive World Cup matches since Rivaldo in 2002.

Scotland head into their clash against Brazil with the opportunity to book their place in the knockout stages of the World Cup for the very first time, at the record ninth attempt.

History isn’t on their side. The Tartan Army have never won two games in the same World Cup and have failed to win any of their 10 matches against Brazil in all competitions (two draws & eight defeats).

Yet, Steve Clarke’s men will be in the round-of-32 with a win over Brazil, a draw would also be enough, while even a defeat could still see them progress.

Brazil can book their place in the knockout stages for the 11th World Cup in a row, having last failed to do so in 1982 when they exited in the second group stage. Carlo Ancelotti’s men will qualify if they avoid defeat to Scotland, while even a draw should be enough as they are on four points.

Vinicius Junior has been Brazil’s star man so far, scoring against Morocco and Haiti, meaning he could now become the first Brazilian to score in three successive World Cup matches since Rivaldo in the final group stage game, last-16, and quarter-final of their 2002 triumph.

If Neymar (79) makes his first appearance this tournament he could become the first Brazilian ever to score 80 goals for his country, while if he scores his ninth World Cup goal, only Ronaldo (15) and Pele (14) would have netted more in the tournament for the Selecao.

Morocco vs Haiti

  • Morocco key stat: Ismael Saibari (two goals) needs only one more goal to become Morocco’s joint-top scorer in World Cup history and to become the first African player to score in their first three World Cup games.
  • Haiti key stat: Looking to bow out of the tournament by scoring their first World Cup goal in 52 years.

Morocco accumulated 601 passes in their 1-0 win over Scotland, which set a new World Cup record for an African country. The Atlas Lions, who are now unbeaten in 31 matches, have had the most shots (26) so far in Group C, but only five of which have been on target, producing two goals. They will, however, fancy their chances of enhancing their goals tally against Haiti as they attempt to beat Brazil to top spot.

Ismael Saibari has scored in both games so far, including after just 70 seconds against Scotland, which followed his 19 goals for PSV last season. He now needs only one more goal to become Morocco’s joint-top scorer in World Cup history, alongside Youssef En-Nesyri (three).

A goal would also see Saibari become the first African player to score in each of his first three games at a World Cup.

Haiti‘s first World Cup appearance since 1974 ended after just two games following their defeats to Scotland and Brazil, which saw them become the first elimination of the 2026 edition.

The Grenadiers have now lost all five matches they’ve played at the tournament, meaning a sixth straight loss to Morocco tonight would see them join El Salvador with the worst 100% loss rate – six defeats in six – among countries that have lost every World cup match.

But, on a more positive note, if Haiti do manage to break the Morocco backline it will be their first World Cup goal in 52 years since Emmanuel Sanon scored in the 4-1 defeat to Argentina.
