Best Bets & Predictions
| Our Prediction | Odds & Bookmaker | Confidence | Why I’m Backing It |
|---|---|---|---|
| Brighton to Win | 6/4 @ Sky Bet (40%) | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ | Chelsea’s form has fallen off a cliff, with just one win in their last eight League games and only five points collected from the last 24 available, a return closer to relegation form than a top six push. The attacking issues are even more concerning, with goals drying up completely as they have failed to score in five of their last six matches across all competitions. In contrast, Brighton are trending in the opposite direction, picking up 16 points from their last seven games after a difficult spell earlier in the season, and with their strong home structure and intensity, they look well placed to take advantage while the market still appears slow to fully adjust to Chelsea’s decline. |
| Pascal Gross to Assist | 4/1 @ Bet365 (20%) | ⭐⭐⭐ | Since returning to fitness in January, Pascal Gross has been key to Brighton’s return to form as they now go in search of a European place. The midfielder will be on set-pieces and has provided three assists in his last six. |

How both teams go into Brighton vs Manchester City
Chelsea’s new manager bounce has faded quickly, with the Blues now on a four-game losing streak in the Premier League after another setback at the weekend. Results have dipped sharply, and across all competitions, they have lost five of their last six, failing to score in each of those defeats, a clear sign of how blunt they have become in the final third.
Injuries have not helped, but the lack of cutting-edge remains a major concern, especially given the defensive issues their opponents have also been dealing with. With sixth place now the ceiling regardless of results, Chelsea are looking over their shoulder as a chasing pack, including Brentford, Bournemouth, Fulham, Brighton and Everton close the gap heading into the final stretch.

Brighton remain firmly in the European mix and can even start to dream of Champions League football, with the gap to the teams above still within touching distance. Their draw with Tottenham showed their resilience, coming from behind twice through Kaoru Mitoma and Georginio Rutter, and while it ended a three-game winning run, it kept their momentum going in a tightly packed race.
Form at home has been less consistent, with only three wins from their last 10 league games at the Amex, but there have been standout moments, including a victory over Liverpool. Confidence against Chelsea will also be high after beating them earlier in the season, extending a strong recent record in this fixture and underlining their ability to trouble the Blues again.
Brighton team news
Brighton have their own injury concerns to deal with, as Diego Gomez was forced off in the first half against Spurs with a knee issue, while Kaoru Mitoma also had to be withdrawn late on, leaving both as doubts heading into the next game. Fabian Hurzeler was unable to provide clear updates after the match, adding to the uncertainty around their availability.
Elsewhere, James Milner, Adam Webster and Stefanos Tzimas remain sidelined, but there is at least a boost with captain Lewis Dunk returning from suspension to strengthen the defence
Chelsea team news
Chelsea’s injury problems continue to mount, with Joao Pedro missing out before kickoff and both Estevao Willian and Enzo Fernandez forced off during the game, the former facing a spell out with a hamstring issue while doubts remain over Fernandez and Pedro for the next match. There are also question marks over Benoit Badiashile and Filip Jorgensen, while Reece James, Levi Colwill, Jamie Bynoe Gittens and the suspended Mykhaylo Mudryk are all set to miss out.

Recent history is surprisingly even. Brighton have won three of the last five, including a 3-1 win at Stamford Bridge in September. Goals flow when these two meet – the last six have all gone over 2.5.

Can Chelsea’s Attack Outgun Brighton? Final Thoughts
Chelsea are in freefall at the moment and need to address this terrible run of form. However, they face a Brighton side who are trending upwards and look a strong play to win the game at 6/4. We also like the look of the 4/1 for Pascal Gross to provide an assist, after three in his last six matches.
