Stats you might have missed
Milner’s milestone
- James Milner has now made more Premier League appearances (654) than any other player.
Brighton got back to winning ways with an impressive 2-0 victory away to Brentford to ease the pressure on boss Fabian Hurzeler.
James Milner etched his name into Premier League history during the victory after he made his 654th appearance to surpass Gareth Barry’s long-standing record. Over the course of his record-breaking career, the 40-year-old has featured in 230 matches for Liverpool, 147 for Manchester City, 100 for Aston Villa, 94 for Newcastle, 48 for Leeds United, and 35 for Brighton.
However, Barry still holds the record for minutes played, with a whopping 54,434, while Milner is 13th with 40,596.

Man City’s favourite foes
- Manchester City are unbeaten in 22 Premier League home games against Newcastle, winning the last 17 on the spin.
Manchester City kept the heat on Arsenal with a 2-1 win against Newcastle, who they are now unbeaten against in a whopping 22 Premier League home games dating back to 2022.
City have won the last 17 of those home games in a row, which is the second-longest run of wins by any team against another in English top-flight history behind Everton’s tally of 22 at home to Fulham (between 1961 and 2018).
Stamford Bridge slip-ups
- Chelsea have dropped more points from winning positions in Premier League home games than any other side this season (17).
Chelsea were denied victory by a 93rd-minute equaliser from struggling Burnley at Stamford Bridge, compounding their frustrations after surrendering a two-goal lead against Leeds in their previous home outing.
The Blues have now dropped more points (17) from winning positions in Premier League matches at home this season than any other side. Only in 1995/96 have they conceded more points from ahead at Stamford Bridge in a single campaign (20).

Emery extends run
- Aston Villa are unbeaten in all 19 of their Premier League games against promoted sides under Unai Emery (W14 D5).
Aston Villa saved their blushes with a 88th minute equaliser at home to Leeds, but it’s a result which left the club 10 points adrift of leaders Arsenal in the title race.
The draw did, at least, preserve Unai Emery’s unbeaten record against promoted clubs, which he extended to 18: 14 wins and 4 draws.
Draw specialists
- West Ham and Bournemouth have now drawn each of the last six Premier League meetings, which is the longest active run of its kind.
A goalless draw between West Ham and Bournemouth felt almost inevitable at the weekend, with the previous five meetings between the sides also ending all-square. Saturday’s result made it six successive stalemates, which is now the longest active run of draws between two teams in the Premier League and only the fourth time in the competition’s history that a fixture has produced as many in a row.
West Ham are no strangers to such runs. The Hammers previously shared six consecutive draws with Brighton between 2019 and 2021, and before that had seven straight stalemates against Aston Villa from 1998 to 2001.

Last-gasp Liverpool
- Liverpool’s matches have contained seven goals in injury-time, which is the highest such total ever recorded by a single club in a Premier League campaign.
Liverpool snatched a last-gasp win away to Nottingham Forest thanks to a 97th-minute winner from Alexis Mac Allister, who minutes earlier had had a goal disallowed.
Liverpool’s games this season have become synonymous with late goals, seven of which have come in the 90th minute or later – three in their favour and four against – which is the highest combined total ever recorded by a single side in a Premier League campaign.
In contrast, the Reds have been slow out of the blocks, scoring only twice in the opening 20 minutes of matches.

Jimenez’s Perfect 13
- Raul Jimenez has the best 100% penalty record in Premier League history with 13 goals from 13 penalties.
Raul Jimenez scored twice as Fulham claimed a 3-1 win away to Sunderland to move up to 10th in the table. The striker’s second goal came from the spot to enhance his immaculate penalty record to 13 successful conversions from 13 attempts, which is the best 100% record in Premier League history ahead of Yaya Toure (12 from 12) and Dimitar Berbatov (9 from 9).

Wolves’ away day woes
- Wolves are the only club in the top-four tiers that have yet to record a single win on the road this season.
Wolves’ winless away run was extended to 14 matches this term after they lost 1-0 at Crystal Palace, a result which leaves the club 17 points adrift of safety with 10 games remaining.
Wolves are the only side in England’s top four tiers without an away league win in 2025-26, collecting just four points from a possible 42 on the road so far this term.
Gyokeres goal machine
- Viktor Gyokeres has scored more goals than any other Premier League player in all competitions in 2026.
Arsenal produced their biggest-ever Premier League away win over Tottenham with a 4-1 triumph, which moved the club five points clear at the summit, while the defeat left Spurs as the only top-flight side yet to register a league victory so far in 2026.
The Gunners have now beaten their north London rivals in five straight Premier League meetings for the first time, and have won four consecutive away league games against them for the first time since 1952 to 1955.
Viktor Gyokeres continued his sizzling form in front of goal, scoring twice alongside Eberechi Eze. The Swedish forward has made a blistering start to 2026, netting eight goals in all competitions, which is more than any other Premier League player. His 15 goals across all competitions this season are the most by an Arsenal player in their debut campaign since Alexandre Lacazette scored 17 in 2017/18.
Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta continues to excel in capital clashes, boasting the highest win percentage, 60.8%, of any manager to oversee 20 or more Premier League London derbies with 42 victories from 69 matches.

Super sub Sesko
- No player has scored more non-penalty Premier League goals in 2026 than Benjamin Sesko.
Benjamin Sesko has turned into Manchester United’s newest edition of the Super Sub after the striker came off the bench to score the winner for his side against Everton as Michael Carrick made it 16 points from a possible 18.
The striker has now scored five goals in just 273 minutes of Premier League action in 2026 – more than any other player in the league this year – and has netted as a substitute in three of his last four appearances.
