Chelsea vs Leeds – Tuesday 10 February – 7:30pm
Leeds returned to winning ways on Friday night, beating Nottingham Forest 3-1 to move three points clear of their relegation rivals. They come up against a Chelsea side that looked ruthless at the weekend, though, beating Wolves by the same 3-1 scoreline thanks to a hattrick from Cole Palmer.
Leeds have performed well in front of goal this season, averaging 1.36 goals per game but have conceded 1.72 goals per game, a major contributor of their league position. Chelsea have been better at both ends of the pitch, scoring 1.8 goals per game on average and conceding 1.12 goals per game on average. These factors lead us to think that Chelsea will come out on top but it’s easy to see a scenario where Leeds find the net, too.
Prediction: Chelsea 2-1 Leeds (21/4 with BetMGM)
Everton vs Bournemouth – Tuesday 10 February – 7:30pm
Everton put in a good performance to come from behind to beat Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday, while Bournemouth also had to come from behind but could only manage a 1-1 draw at home to Aston Villa.
The Toffees are on a good run of form, going five games without a loss in the Premier League and they now sit just six points off the European places. Interestingly, they’ve got an identical record when it comes to goals scored and conceded, averaging 1.12 goals per game at both ends of the pitch. It’s hard to argue that the Cherries haven’t brought the entertainment factor this season, scoring more than third placed Villa but conceding more than any other side outside of the bottom three. They’ve averaged 1.64 goals per game this season but have conceded 1.76 on average.
Prediction: Everton 1-1 Bournemouth (9/2 with BetMGM)
Tottenham vs Newcastle – Tuesday 10 February – 7:30pm
Things aren’t looking promising at Spurs, they’ve now gone seven Premier League games without a victory and are in danger of being pulled into a relegation fight with just six points separating them from the bottom three. They went down 2-0 to Man United at the weekend to continue their poor run. Newcastle were also on the wrong end of the result on Saturday, losing 3-2 at home to Brentford, dropping into the bottom half as a result.
Goals have been a problem at both ends of the pitch for Tottenham, both scoring and conceding an average of 1.4 goals per game and Thomas Frank is coming under increasing pressure as a result. Newcastle have almost identical record as their opponents this weekend, scoring the same amount but conceding just one more time, averaging 1.44 goals conceded per game.
Prediction: Tottenham 2-2 Newcastle (9/1 with BetMGM)
West Ham vs Man Utd – Tuesday 10 February – 8:15pm
West Ham looked dead and buried a couple of weeks ago but three wins from their last four games have seen them close the gap above them, leaving them just three points away from safety. This week they come up against the form side in the division though, with Man Utd winning their last four games to climb into fourth place and make Champions League football a real possibility again.
West Ham haven’t been too bad in front of goal, averaging 1.24 goals per game, but it’s at the other end of the pitch where they’ve struggled. They’ve conceded 48 times, an average of 1.92 goals per game and they drastically need to improve at the back if they want to be playing Premier League football again next season. Man Utd have had their struggles this season but seem to be sitting their stride, scoring an average of 1.8 goals per game and conceding 1.44 times per match on average.
Prediction: West Ham 1-2 Man Utd (11/2 with BetMGM)

Aston Villa vs Brighton – Wednesday 11 February – 7:30pm
Aston Villa come into this game off the back of a 1-1 draw with Bournemouth, a result that was enough to keep them in the top three, although they are now nine points behind Arsenal. The host a Brighton side that have struggled recently, with just one win in their last 12 and a defeat to rivals, Crystal Palace at the weekend.
Villa have averaged 1.44 goals per game this season and conceded an average of 1.08 goals per game. After their disastrous start to the campaign, it’s definitely positive news for Unai Emery’s side as they continue their pursuit of Champions League football once again. The Seagulls have almost matched their opponents this week in front of goal, averaging 1.36 goals per game but have conceded 1.32 goals per game on average. It’s not as big as the points difference between the two sides, which currently stands at 16 points.
Prediction: Aston Villa 1-1 Brighton (27/5 with BetMGM)
Crystal Palace vs Burnley – Wednesday 11 February – 7:30pm
Crystal Palace saw their poor run of form come to an end at the weekend, with a much needed 1-0 win over Brighton. It was a result that lifted the Eagles above their rivals and eased some growing concerns about being drawn into a relegation battle. They’ve got a great chance to build on that win this week, with the visit of a Burnley side that have gone 16 Premier League games without a win and have only picked up five points on the road all season.
Goals have been an issue for both sides, with Palace averaging 1.04 goals per game and Burnley averaging just a goal a game. This one could well end up being a low scoring affair, especially when considering that Crystal Palace have only conceded an average of 1.16 goals per game this season. Burnley have seen their defence breached almost two times a game on average, conceding 49 goals in 25 games.
Prediction: Crystal Palace 1-0 Burnley (27/5 with BetMGM)
Man City vs Fulham – Wednesday 11 February – 7:30pm
Man City gave a massive shot in the arm to their title challenge at the weekend, coming from behind to beat Liverpool 2-1 thanks to a late Erling Haaland penalty. That leaves them six points behind Arsenal, with the two clubs still to play each other later in the season. It was the opposite story for Fulham, who threw away a 1-0 lead against Everton to lose 2-1, seeing them drop to 10th position as a result.
Man City lead the league when it comes to goals, scoring 51 times in 25 matches, an average of more than two goals a game. Much of this success comes from Haaland, who has now scored 21 goals this campaign. They’ve also conceded less than a goal a game on average, with 24 goals conceded. Fulham have scored 1.4 goals per game on average, with their goals conceded figure being a little bit higher at 1.48.
Prediction: Man City 3-1 Fulham (8/1 with BetMGM)
Nottingham Forest vs Wolves – Wednesday 11 February – 7:30pm
Inconsistency continues to blight Nottingham Forest and they lost again on Friday night, leaving Leeds empty handed after a 3-1 defeat. It was a similar story for Wolves, who lost by the same scoreline to Chelsea. Both sides are in real danger of relegation this season, meaning this fixture is a true six pointer.
Goals have been a big issue for Nottingham Forest this season, with the East Midlands side scoring an average of just a goal a game. They’ve conceded 1.52 goals per game, though, conceding less than the sides below them but struggling to keep the goal count down. It’s an even worse story for Wolves, who have scored just 16 times this season, an average of 0.64 goals per game, but conceded 48 times, the second highest total in the league.
Prediction: Nottingham Forest 1-1 Wolves (27/5 with BetMGM)

Sunderland vs Liverpool – Wednesday 11 February – 8:15pm
Sunderland have been plagued with inconsistency in recent weeks, exchanging wins and losses over the past five gameweeks. That won’t be too much of a disappointment to a side that has vastly overperformed this season and currently sit in ninth place. Liverpool are just three points ahead of the Black Cats ahead of their match on Wednesday and face a fight if they want to be playing Champions League football again next season.
It’s been efficiency that has led to Sunderland’s good season, with the side averaging 1.08 goals scored per game but conceding just 1.16 goals per game, with their games seeing just 2.2 goals per game on average. Liverpool have scored 40 times, an average of 1.6 goals per game, which is an acceptable record but their defence has been where their problems have be highlighted. They’ve conceded an average of 1.4 goals per game, a figure higher than any other side in the top nine apart from Man United.
Prediction: Sunderland 1-3 Liverpool (10/1 with BetMGM)
Brentford vs Arsenal – Thursday 12 February – 8:00pm
Brentford continued their push towards Europe with a 3-2 victory over Newcastle at St James Park at the weekend, following a 1-0 win at Villa Park prior to that. They come up against an Arsenal side that sit top of the Premier League and are marching towards the title after their 3-0 win over Sunderland on Saturday.
It’s been a great season for Brentford, and Keith Andrews, who was one of the favourites to be the first manager sacked this season. The Bees have averaged 1.56 goals per game this season, with Igor Thiago scoring 17 of their 39 goals, and conceded at a rate of 1.36 goals per game. The Gunners, as to be expected with their lofty position, have scored the joint-most goals this season, an average of 1.96 goals per game, and conceded the least with 0.68.
Prediction: Brentford 1-3 Arsenal (19/2 with BetMGM)
