Canada picked up their first ever point at a World Cup in their opening 2026 match, drawing 1-1 with Bosnia-Herzegovina. Les Rouges were the better side for much of the game and their performance will be encouraging.
2022 was the first time Canada had qualified for the World Cup since 1986 but it couldn’t have gone more wrong, with the Canucks losing all three of their group games and finishing bottom of Group F.
They were then in danger of losing their seventh straight World Cup game, but battled back to draw with Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Canada odds to win the World Cup
Despite it being a home World Cup for Canada, expectations aren’t high, but that won’t stop them from giving their very best in front of their own fans.
The 1-1 draw against Bosnia will have given them confidence and, while their main focus is qualifying from Group B, their outright odds to win the tournament have shortened a little from 300/1 to 250/1.
Canada odds to win Group B
Canada will be relatively happy with the group stage draw they’ve been handed at the World Cup as they take on Switzerland, Qatar, and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Their 1-1 draw with Bosnia-Herzegovina saw their odds to win Group B come in a little bit, moving from 5/2 to 9/4.
Canada World Cup Top Goalscorer Odds
Only a few players from the Canadian squad are available to back in the Top Goalscorer market and unsurprisingly given the low expectations on this particular host nation, odds on all of those players are very long. Jonathan David of Juventus is the shortest price, but still available at three figures and the other players in the running are striker Cyle Larin of Southampton – who scored against Bosnia – and Alphonso Davies, who is undoubtedly the star of this Canada outfit but probably not expected to rack up the goals.
