Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea face off in the Premier League on Saturday at 5:30pm, with Jarred Gillett appointed as the referee.
Gilllett has overseen six Premier League games so far this season, showing 21 cards at an average of 3.5 per match. Those have been split across 20 yellows and one red, with the sending off coming in a Tottenham game.
The Australian was the man in the middle for Tottenham’s 3-0 away win over West Ham United in September, sending off Tomas Soucek for serious foul play. Gillett hasn’t officiated a Chelsea league game in over a year.
Tottenham will be hoping to tighten their grip on a spot in the Premier League’s top four, while Chelsea are hoping to climb the table.

This will be GIllett’s 10th Chelsea game as a referee, and the first since February. He oversaw just two Blues games last season, a league draw with Crystal Palace and FA Cup fourth-round defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion. Chelsea have won just one of their six league games with Gillett in the middle, but they have also only lost one — with four draws. Gillett has awarded Chelsea three penalties, though.

What happened when Jarred Gillett last refereed Chelsea?
As mentioned, Gillett last refereed Chelsea in the FA Cup in February. The Blues were beaten 2-1 by Brighton at the Amex, and it wasn’t really an eventful game with regards to refereeing. Gillett showed two yellow cards to Chelsea and two to Brighton, all for fouls.
What should we expect from Jarred Gillett?
Gillett is one of seven referees to have awarded more than one penalty in the Premier League this season. He has also given three to Chelsea during his career, including two in one game against Manchester United in 2023-24. On the other side of this game, Gillett is yet to award Tottenham a penalty, but he has given two against them. Again they both came in the same match.
