Last season, Wolves, Burnley and West Ham were relegated from the top flight. It was a disastrous season for all three clubs. Wolves had a truly awful campaign at Molineux, while fans at Turf Moor prepared for an immediate return to the Championship. West Ham also struggled massively in east London, leading to Graham Potter leaving the club. Nuno Espirito Santo was unable to reverse the trend and the Hammers ultimately fell through the trap door.

Coventry City, Ipswich Town and Hull City make up the promoted trio this time around. All three clubs will be hoping to secure their status in the top flight, but they are initially given short odds of going straight back down.

Who are the favourites to be relegated?

Coventry City

Coventry City are the favourites to be playing Championship football next season. The Sky Blues enjoyed a fantastic promotion campaign, but the step up to the Premier League is a huge one. It is always difficult for newly promoted sides to adapt to the pace and quality of the top tier. They will need to pick up maximum points in their home games to stand a chance of staying up.

Ipswich Town

Ipswich Town are also among the favourites to be relegated. The Tractor Boys have a talented squad, but they lack Premier League experience. They will need their key players to step up and deliver consistent performances throughout the season. Survival is the ultimate goal, but it will be a massive challenge for the Suffolk club.

Hull City

Hull City complete the trio of promoted clubs and are widely tipped for an immediate return to the Championship. The Tigers have shown resilience in the past, but the top flight is unforgiving. They must find a way to grind out results against the teams around them. If they fail to do so, they could find themselves cut adrift at the bottom of the table.
