Tottenham Hotspur were playing in the Champions League final four months ago, but now look a shadow of the side that took to Madrid.

Domestically, Spurs weren’t outstanding in 2018/19 but under Mauricio Pochettino’s watch they finished fourth and reached a first European final for 35 years.

Pochettino was eventually sacked after a poor campaign and replaced by Jose Mourinho, though the Portuguese coach has so far been unable to steer them back on track.

As a result of poor form and a big departure, the Lilywhites have dropped to 4.5 stars from an initial five-star rating for FIFA 20.

Read on for Tottenham Hotspur’s FIFA 20 player ratings and stats in full, as well as some tips.

Squad list is based on players in latest downloadable update at time of publication.

Spurs FIFA 20 ratings: Goalkeepers

Despite coming in for some flak this season, Hugo Lloris was integral to Spurs’ European adventure across 2018/19, making a number of key saves and proving a dependable pair hands between the sticks en route to Madrid, bar one or two untimely mistakes along the way. As such, the Frenchman has been afforded an 87 rating, making him one of the best ‘keepers in the Premier League.

Spurs goalkeeper ratings for FIFA 20: Hugo Lloris (87), Paulo Gazzaniga (77), Michel Vorm (74), Alfie Whiteman (63).

Spurs FIFA 20 ratings: Defenders

Pochettino’s side may possess an abundance of attacking quality but they also boast a number of resilient defenders at the base, with centre-back duo Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld sitting of 85 and 86 respectively. Meanwhile full-backs Ben Davies and Serge Aurier both sit on 79.

Player to poach: Considering he is not a starter in the Spurs starting XI you may be able to prise Juan Foyth away from north London in your career mode, with the 75-rated defender capable of rising to an 85, while his proficiency at both centre-back and right-back would provide any side a good depth of versatility.

Spurs defender ratings for FIFA 20: Toby Alderweireld (86), Jan Vertonghen (85), Davinson Sanchez (82), Ben Davies (79), Serge Aurier (79), Juan Foyth (75), Japhet Tanganga (68), Tariq Hinds (61), Harvey White (60), Malachi Fagan-Walcott (58), Brooklyn Lyons-Foster (58).

Spurs FIFA 20 ratings: Midfielders

Among the string of midfield signings Spurs made over the summer, record acquisition Tanguy Ndombele has so far left the most palpable imprint, though on FIFA 20 his rating of 80 could do with some improving.

Player to poach: A number of Spurs’ young midfielders could reach a rating just shy of 90 if nurtured correctly, but these players, such as Winks, Sessegnon and Lo Celso will be near-on impossible to lure away from the club. But one who might be tempted is Oliver Skipp, a youngster who has been no stranger to first team action under Pochettino. Starting at a base rating of 67, Skipp can progress to an 84-rated midfielder if developed accordingly.

Spurs midfielder ratings for FIFA 20: Son Heung-min (87), Lucas Moura (83), Dele Alli (83), Giovani Lo Celso (82), Steven Bergwijn (82), Moussa Sissoko (80), Tanguy Ndombele (80), Harry Winks (80), Erik Lamela (80), Eric Dier (78), Ryan Sessegnon (75), Gedson Fernandes (75), Oliver Skipp (67), Tashan Oakley-Boothe (63), Jamie Bowden (60), J’Neil Bennett (59).

Spurs FIFA 20 ratings: Forwards

Up front, Harry Kane keeps his initial rating of 89 from FIFA 19, while Son Heung-min isn’t too far behind either with a rating of 87. As for Champions League semi-final hero Lucas Moura, he sits at 83 and youngster Troy Parrott comes in at 64.

Player to poach: There is only one player who could realistically be poached from Spurs’ frontline and that is Parrott, but what a player to bring to your club should you succeed. The teenage Irishman is highly regarded in the capital, and with good reason, with the teenager capable of jumping over 20 ratings and reaching an 85.

Spurs forward ratings for FIFA 20: Harry Kane (89), Troy Parrott (64), Rodel Richards (59).
