West Ham Squawka Score ratings 2026/27
Twenty-two goals in eight games is the most in the Championship, and it has carried West Ham to second. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have beaten Wolves 4-2, Derby 3-0 and Wrexham 6-0, though the 11 conceded – including a 2-1 home defeat by Charlton and draws at Watford and Millwall – explains why they are not top. The Squawka Score is a metric developed to assess a player’s performance relative to other players in the same position. It is shown as a percentage, and it is worth knowing that 66% is average rather than 50% – a 70% is a good afternoon and 85% or above marks out one of the best players on the pitch. Each score is calculated from a range of per-90-minute statistics, taking in the obvious numbers such as goals and assists alongside some more obscure ones that are far more position-specific. One note on the Championship: the division does not carry expected-goals data, so these ratings are built on volume and quality of actions – shots, big chances, duels, clearances, passes into the box – rather than xG and xA.
GK: Mads Hermansen – 69% – Every minute played, 19 saves and two clean sheets. The 11 goals conceded is the highest figure of any goalkeeper in the top six, and it is the one number that separates West Ham from automatic promotion form rather than anything Hermansen has done wrong.
RB: Kyle Walker-Peters – 66% – Two assists and a club-leading six blocked shots from six starts. A steady rather than spectacular return from a full-back playing a level below where he spent the past five years, and the attacking output is thinner than you might expect.
RCB: Konstantinos Mavropanos – 72% – A remarkable attacking return from a centre-back: four goals from 13 shots, with six on target. Add 72 progressive passes, 42 duels won, 27 aerials, 10 interceptions and 33 clearances, all among the best at the club. An error leading to a goal and four big chances missed are the blemishes on an outstanding start.
LCB: Maximilian Kilman – 69% – Every available minute and the defensive anchor: 51 clearances and 29 aerial duels won lead the club, with 37 duels won, 50 progressive passes and 17 possessions regained in his own third. He has chipped in a goal from a set piece too.
LB: Ollie Scarles – 65% – Ten tackles won is the most at the club, along with 12 clearances from five starts. The 20-year-old has held the left-back shirt without doing much going forward, which is what keeps the rating at the positional average.
RM: Jarrod Bowen – 83% – The best Squawka Score of any player in the Championship, and it is not close. Four goals and three assists, a club-leading 32 shots, 11 on target, 24 chances created, nine of them clear-cut, 61 touches in the opposition box, 59 passes into the penalty area and 27 corners. The captain is operating at a level the division cannot contain.
RCM: Divine Mukasa – 66% – Two goals from six starts and 16 possessions regained in his own third. The 19-year-old has been given a run in central midfield and has not looked out of place, though the creative numbers around him are modest.
LCM: Arne Engels – 72% – Eighteen chances created, 42 passes into the penalty area, 79 into the final third and two assists, plus 24 corners. A genuine creative midfielder in a side that plays through the wide areas. Seven occasions dribbled past is the most in the squad and the only real mark against him.
LM: Manor Solomon – 76% – The second-best rating at the club. Two goals, two assists, 14 chances created with four clear-cut, and club-leading figures for passes into the final third with 109, duels won with 44 and completed take-ons with 19. On the opposite flank to Bowen, West Ham have the two most dangerous wide players in the league.
RST: Joël Piroe – 70% – Three goals from five starts with six shots on target, the most efficient forward return at the club. Two big chances missed, but a striker scoring at this rate on limited minutes has a case for more of them.
LST: Valentín Castellanos – 65% – A goal and two assists from 19 shots, with 29 touches in the opposition box and three clear-cut chances created. Three big chances missed, three yellow cards and a club-high 13 fouls make this the most frustrating return in an otherwise fluent attack.
Worth a mention: James Ward-Prowse has rated at 75% across six appearances, third-best at the club.
