Man Utd to win Premier League odds

What would have seemed an absurdity at the start of the campaign has become a (nearly) reachable target for English football’s contemporary sleeping giant. Ten Hag has restored an authority and arrogance at Old Trafford, and the club have put themselves in the title race conversation, albeit as firm outsiders.

A recent defeat to leaders Arsenal and a 2-2 draw against Leeds has just punctured the growing ambition, but we are only just over the halfway point of the campaign, so plenty can still change. As things currently stand, Man Utd are third and only eight points off the Gunners, but with knockout European football back, the pressure will start to build on every club hovering near the summit.

Although it’s still looking like a very tall order for Man Utd to mount a genuine assault on City’s Premier League throne, they remain the third-favourites with most bookmakers, including Paddy Power, who are offering odds of 16/1 for them to seal the title.

Man Utd top four finish odds

A more realistic target for Man Utd and Ten Hag is to end their one-season exile from the Champions League and secure a place in the top four. The current state of play sees Man Utd boast an eight-point buffer on fifth-placed Newcastle.

Ten Hag became something of a Champions League cult hero after he carried his Ajax side to the 2018/19 semi-final whilst claiming the scalps of Real Madrid and Juventus en route. He will be desperate to nudge his way back into the competition and have a pop at ol’ ‘Big Ears’ with a three-time winner.

Paddy Power are offering odds of 1/14 for Man Utd to finish in the 2022/23 Premier League top four.

Man Utd UEL Qualification odds

Man Utd were fortunate not to finish outside the top six last season and have Brighton to thank for their spot in the Europa League after they beat eventual seventh-placed side West Ham on the final day.

Although last season brought Man Utd’s worst season in terms of points, they have finished lower in the Premier League, with the 2013/14 campaign the only one in which they have finished outside the top six (seventh).

Given that history, and their current position, it would now take an almighty capitulation to repeat the feat of that ill-fated, first post-Ferguson season. So it’s understandable that at this stage Sky Bet are offering odds of 1/100for Man Utd to finish in the Top Six.

Other Man Utd odds

A short distance from Old Trafford, a certain Erling Haaland has all but wrapped up the Golden Boot with his frightening tally of 27 goals in 24 games. It would take a severe injury to the Norwegian goal-fiend or a serious dip in form for him to release his vice-like grip on the coveted scoring gong.

Marcus Rashford has returned from the World Cup with fire in his belly and would have fancied his chances of pushing for the Golden Boot had Haaland not consolidated his position as the runaway leader. Still, Paddy Power are offering 75/1 on Rashford continuing his rich vein of form and pipping Haaland to the post.

Incredibly, Rashford has netted 16 goals in 19 games across all competitions since returning from the World Cup. As such Sky Bet are offering odds of 10/1 for him to scoop the PFA Player of the Year.
