How does the Haaland goals market work?
This is a win-only market, so there is no each-way option and no place terms to worry about. Settlement is based on Premier League goals only across the 2026/27 season, which means Champions League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup and Community Shield goals do not count. Own goals are not credited, penalties are.
The selections are cumulative rather than exclusive. If Haaland finishes on 31 league goals, the 25 or more and 30 or more selections both win, while 35 or more and 40 or more lose. Bets stand regardless of how many appearances he makes, so injury or squad rotation is part of the risk.

His 36 goals in 2022/23 remain the record for a single Premier League season, beating the 34 shared by Andrew Cole and Alan Shearer. He is also the fastest player to 50 Premier League goals, needing only 48 games, and in December 2025 he became the fastest to 100, reaching the mark in his 111th appearance at Fulham. Shearer had held that record since 1995 with 124 games, so Haaland took 13 matches off it. His 88 goals in his first 100 Premier League games is another competition record.
What Haaland did last season
Haaland won the 2025/26 Golden Boot with 27 goals, five clear of Brentford’s Igor Thiago, and it was his third award in four seasons. Only Thierry Henry and Mo Salah have won it four times, so another Golden Boot would put Haaland level at the top of that list.
The detail behind the tally matters for this market. Haaland played 35 league games and 2,953 minutes, his heaviest league workload since 2022/23, and he hit 126 shots with 59 on target. He also beat his Expected Goals (xG) figure of 25.20, so there was no great slice of luck in the number. Three of the 27 came from the penalty spot.
Across all competitions he scored 38 goals in 52 games, including eight in 10 Champions League appearances and three in three FA Cup ties. City finished second on 78 points, seven behind champions Arsenal.
How good was Haaland’s World Cup?
Very good, and briefly the best of anyone at the tournament. Haaland scored seven goals in five games at his first World Cup as Norway reached the quarter-finals for the first time in their history.
He opened the tournament by scoring twice against Iraq before adding another brace against Senegal in the group stage. Norway rested him for the 4-1 defeat to France, but he returned to score a late winner against Ivory Coast in the last 32.
He then produced the defining performance of his World Cup in the last 16 against Brazil in New Jersey. He headed Norway in front in the 79th minute before drilling home a second in the 90th minute to seal a 2-1 victory and dump the five-time world champions out at their earliest stage since 1990. Andreas Schjelderup provided both assists.
Those goals took him level with Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe at the top of the Golden Boot standings on seven. Norway’s run ended in Miami, where England came from behind to win 1-2 after extra time through a Jude Bellingham brace, with Haaland kept off the scoresheet for the only time in the tournament and substituted in extra time in fierce heat.
His international numbers are absurd. Haaland went into the quarter-final with 62 goals in 54 caps, a goal every 0.88 games, and only six of those were penalties. He has scored in each of his past 14 competitive appearances for Norway, a run worth 27 goals.
What to make of the market
The obvious point in favour of the shorter prices is consistency. Haaland has hit at least 22 Premier League goals in all four of his seasons in England, and 25 or more in three of them, so 4/6 about 25 or more is asking him to do something he has managed 75% of the time. Man City have also changed manager, with Enzo Maresca replacing Pep Guardiola on a three-year deal, and the Italian’s Chelsea sides were built to feed a central striker.
The 30 or more selection at 5/2 is the interesting one. Haaland has only cleared 30 league goals once, in that record debut campaign, and his three seasons since have come in at 27, 22 and 27. To get there he needs close to 35 appearances again and an uptick on last season’s rate, which is possible but not the way to bet at short odds.
The bigger question is minutes. Haaland’s World Cup campaign did not end until 11th July, forcing him to miss Manchester City’s pre-season tour of Hong Kong and South Korea as he completed an extended rest period. Enzo Maresca also inherits a squad that spent much of the summer at the World Cup.
That combination could lead to a slow start to the season. With a new manager settling in and Champions League football on the horizon, Haaland looks more likely to finish in the mid-20s than challenge the 30-goal mark.
Haaland is contracted to City until 2034, so there is no transfer noise to price in, and at 26 he is at the age when centre-forwards tend to peak. But 35 or more at 10/1 would require the second-best scoring season in Premier League history, and 40 or more at 40/1 has never been done.
