Pre-qualifying for the 2024 FIBA Men’s Olympics tournament is split up into four sections, with tournaments taking place in Europe, Africa, the Americas, and Asia and Oceania.
Usually, each tournament will feature group stages followed by knockout rounds to decide who makes it through to the next stage of qualifying. That remains the case in Europe, Africa, and the Americas. However, in the Asia and Oceania section, there will be just a single round-robin due to the withdrawal of South Korea and Chinese Taipei.
The top teams from each section will then advance to the full qualifying tournament, which will feature two teams from Europe and the Americas, and one from each of the other sections. Of course as hosts, France already have their place secured.
