Our England vs DR Congo bet builder tips take centre stage on Wednesday as the Three Lions look to book their place in the last 16 of the World Cup. The match kicks-off at 5:00pn (UK Time) in Atlanta and below you can find our reasoning for why we think this 5/1 double provides value.
England progressed as Group L winners after collecting seven points from their three matches. Their African opponents had to rely on their third-placed finish, but they did enough to extend their World Cup campaign.
Bellingham to bag again
Jude Bellingham has enjoyed another outstanding World Cup campaign and continues to influence games at both ends of the pitch. The Real Madrid midfielder has scored twice in England’s three group matches and regularly arrives in dangerous positions around the penalty area, averaging two shots per game.
With Declan Rice expected to return in midfield, Bellingham should have greater freedom to break forward and join the attack. That role has already brought him plenty of success in this tournament and makes him one of England’s strongest goalscoring threats once again.
Wissa can hit the target
DR Congo are expected to spend long periods without the ball, so they will rely heavily on quick transitions to create chances. That should suit Yoane Wissa, who has emerged as their biggest attacking threat after scoring three of the Leopards’ four goals at this World Cup.
The Newcastle forward struggled for goals in the Premier League last season, but he has looked far sharper on the international stage. Wissa has already attempted nine shots during the group stage, the fourth-highest total in Group K, and he looks good value to test Jordan Pickford at least once.
