Croatia vs Ghana predictions and betting tips

Our PredictionOdds & BookmakerConfidenceWhy We’re Backing It
Ghana double chance11/10 @ Paddy Power
(47.6%)
⭐⭐⭐⭐Croatia responded well to their opening defeat against England by edging past Panama 1-0, but they still need another positive result to secure a place in the last 32. Meanwhile, Ghana proved against the Three Lions that they are capable of frustrating stronger opponents, so Zlatko Dalic’s side should expect another tough and closely contested encounter in Philadelphia.
Antonie Semenyo Over 0.5 Shots on target15/13 @ Spreadex
(11.8%)
⭐⭐Antoine Semenyo looks generously priced to register a shot on target on Saturday. The Manchester City forward had two attempts against Panama and remains one of Ghana’s biggest attacking threats. With the Black Stars needing to create chances against Croatia, he should see plenty of the ball in advanced areas and has every chance of testing the goalkeeper at least once..

Odds correct at time of writing. Please gamble responsibly.

How both teams head into Croatia vs Ghana

Croatia responded well to their heavy defeat against England by grinding out a 1-0 win over Panama. The victory also marked Luka Modric’s 200th international appearance and ended a run of seven consecutive matches without a clean sheet.

Zlatko Dalic’s side now head into their final group game knowing a win will guarantee a place in the last 32. They were far from dominant against Panama, but a much-improved defensive display could provide the platform for back-to-back victories for the first time in 2026.

Ghana strengthened their hopes of reaching the knockout stages with an impressive goalless draw against England. Carlos Queiroz’s side spent long periods without the ball but defended superbly and could even have been awarded a penalty after a challenge on Prince Kwabena Adu.

The Black Stars now know another draw against Croatia would be enough to secure qualification for the last 32. However, they must improve their attacking output after failing to register a first-half shot on target in either of their World Cup matches so far.

Croatia team news

Ante Budimir is pushing for a place in Croatia’s starting XI after coming off the bench to score the winner against Panama. Zlatko Dalic is also expected to stick with the 4-2-3-1 system that delivered a much-improved performance, with Mateo Kovacic and Luka Modric likely to continue together in midfield.

Further forward, Ivan Perisic, Martin Baturina and Marko Pasalic should keep their places behind the central striker. Meanwhile, Josko Gvardiol is expected to retain his spot in defence despite recent criticism, with Dominik Livakovic continuing in goal.

Ghana team news

Carlos Queiroz is unlikely to make many changes after Ghana’s disciplined draw against England. Jordan Ayew should continue to lead the attack despite taking a knock last time out, while Antoine Semenyo and Inaki Williams are expected to keep their places in the front three.

Thomas Partey should again anchor the midfield alongside Caleb Yirenkyi and Kwasi Sibo. Meanwhile, Benjamin Asare is set to retain his place in goal behind an unchanged back four after producing an impressive display against the Three Lions.

Head-to-head

This will be the first ever meeting between Croatia and Ghana.

Can Ghana shut out Croatia?

Ghana showed against England that they can frustrate stronger opponents with a disciplined defensive display, and a similar approach could prove effective against a Croatia side that must push for victory. The Black Stars look well worth backing in the double chance market at 11/10, while Antoine Semenyo also appeals at 15/13 with Unibet to register at least one shot on target.
