The latest nation to name their 26-man squad ahead of the 2026 World Cup is Brazil, with the five-time winners looking to improve on their record.
Carlo Ancelotti will be the man to lead Brazil into the World Cup and there won’t be a more decorated coach in the dugout in North America. Brazil have won the World Cup more times than any other nation and will be desperate to improve on that record, with their last victory coming in 2002.
As expected, there are plenty of names that football fans will recognise, including Liverpool’s Alisson, Gabriel of Arsenal and Newcastle’s Bruno Guimaraes. Carlo Ancelotti has named a strong squad for the 2026 World Cup, with the inclusion of Neymar being the big talking point. The 34-year-old’s place in the squad was thrown into doubt but he’s been called up and looks to play a big part in Brazil’s tournament this summer.
His inclusion comes at the price of Joao Pedro, who is the most high-profile name to be omitted by Ancelotti. There are certainly plenty of options for Brazil in attack but they look a little light in midfield, especially if they pick up and injury or two.
