Brazil and Norway are both eyeing up a place in the 2026 World Cup quarter-finals when they meet on Sunday at 9pm (UK time).
Brazil, the record five-time World Cup winners, had to dig deep to get past Japan in the round of 32, while Norway booked their place in the last 16 thanks to a late strike from Erling Haaland against Ivory Coast.
Haaland has been in outstanding form in his first World Cup campaign, scoring five goals so far, but now faces his biggest challenge yet against Brazil and their star man Vinicius Junior, who has also impressed with four goals and an assist to his name.
All eyes will be on both forwards tonight as attention turns to the latest Brazil vs Norway team news, injury updates, and predicted line-ups for this clash.

Brazil team news
Carlo Ancelotti will still be without Raphinha for this game. The winger picked up a hamstring injury in the group stage win over Haiti and faces a race to be fit before the World Cup is over. Rayan replaced him in that game and has started the past two matches. So he’ll be expected to continue on the right wing, with Vinicius Jr on the left.
Matheus Cunha has started the past three games through the middle for Brazil, taking the spot away from Igor Thiago. He’s expected to continue there, but there could be changes in the midfield, with Endrick potentially coming in alongside Casemiro and Bruno Guimaraes for the injured Lucas Paqueta.
Ancelotti has settled on his favoured backline. Danilo has replaced Roger Ibanez as the first-choice right-back, and will continue there, with Douglas Santos on the left. Gabriel and Marquinhos are the main centre-back pairing, and will be for as long as they are both fit. Alisson will start in goal.

Norway team news
After rotating for the final group game against France, Stale Solbakken named a more recognisable lineup in the win over Ivory Coast. There were still a few minor changes from the first two games, leaving some questions to be answered. Julian Ryerson has missed the past two games through injury, with Solbakken not wanting to risk him last time out. He may remain on the bench to start off with here, as Marcus Pedersen continues at right-back.
The rest of the defence should remain the same. Orjan Nyland will continue in goal, with Kristoffer Ajer and Torbjorn Heggem the centre-back partners. David Moller Wolfe should continue at left-back after overcoming a little injury worry of his own.
Patrick Berg impressed in midfield ahead of Fredrik Aursnes and may continue there. Sander Berge and Martin Odegaard will continue in the midfield too, the latter captaining Norway. Norway’s attack will remain the same. Erling Haaland will lead the line, flanked by Alexander Sorloth and Antonio Nusa.
