There is no doubt that these highly decorated football nations have landed on the more difficult side of the draw. A win in this tough only leads to another showdown, this time against Portugal or France in the semi-finals.

The only team to have outscored Spain in their four matches is Germany, obviously helped by that big win over Scotland on the opening night of the tournament. The momentum has been built from that match, and a last minute equaliser over Switzerland allowed Germany to top the group and then a tight but deserved win over Denmark has put the host nation on the verge of party time.
What are the best bets for Spain vs Germany?
Fabian Ruiz & Ilkay Gundogan over 1.5 shots each – 11/4 with Bet365
Ruiz has been the man getting in and around the box from the Spanish midfield and he could be the one that Germany forget about. Ruiz has two goals in the tournament already and he’s amassed 11 shots along the way. Gundogan always shows up on the big occasion and he is the one with the best movement to find gaps in shooting range, Gundogan has one goal from seven shots and this looks like a good value play.
David Raum to be booked – 7/2 with Bet365
Raum only came into the side for the Denmark match, but he is up against young Lamine Yamal here and therefore has his work cut out. He has an average of 1.61 fouls per game in a Germany shirt, and this is the second highest of the expected starts behind Robert Andrich. Andrich is still on a yellow card suspension from his first half yellow against Scotland on opening night, which is why he isn’t favoured here.
Key players expected to impact the Spain vs Germany match
Lamine Yamal
The current favourite for the Young Player of the Tournament surely only needs a goal and a win here to secure that award. Yamal should’ve already scored on multiple occasions in multiple matches, but, other than his finishing, Yamal has been on top form. Despite his precocious age (how old is he again?) Yamal has great physical attributes, speed, strength, balance, and dynamism, as well as a good decision making brain. As his technical and mental attributes increase with experience, it is dangerous how far Yamal could go in the game.
Jamal Musiala
On the opposite side is Yamal’s key opponent for the Young Player award. It feels like whichever team wins this will also win that award for either Yamal or Musiala. The young former England youth player has dazzled for the hosts off the left of the attack, and what he does seem to have over Yamal at the moment is composure in front of goal, something perfectly demonstrated by his goal against Denmark in the last round. Can he produce similar acts here?
