PSG yet to receive “concrete offer” for Neymar according to sporting director Leonardo

Paris Saint-Germain are yet to receive a “concrete offer” for Neymar according to sporting director Leonardo amid intense Barcelona links.

The Brazil-born transfer overseer has previously stated that Neymar would be allowed to leave the club this summer, but only if the price offered meets their demands.

Could Neymar join Barca? Five things to know…

  • Neymar irked PSG officials after returning to pre-season duties later than required.
  • The Brazilian further agitated his current employers by declaring that Barca’s ‘Remontada’ over the Parisians is his favourite footballing memory.
  • And he hasn’t stopped there, recently fanning the flames of a reunion with “friend” Lionel Messi.
  • PSG president Nassar Al-Khelaifi has previously suggested he wants to stamp out the “superstar behaviour” at the club.
  • Many believe that Al-Khelaifi’s comments were aimed at Neymar, but he is no further to leaving the club according to Leonardo.

And it seems that a solid offer for the Brazilian phenom is yet to be tabled by any of his potential suitors, with fellow countryman, Leonardo, suggesting we are no closer to seeing this transfer saga put to bed.

Speaking following PSG’s 1-1 pre-season friendly draw against FC Nürnberg on Saturday, Leonardo said: “There is nothing different, nothing at all. There are no concrete offers for Neymar. He has a contract with us and is our player.

“I repeat, there is no concrete offer. It’s been the same situation for ten days.”

Tuchel gives Neymar thoughts

Seemingly intent on pushing this transfer speculation to one side, PSG manager Thomas Tuchel gave his two cents on the matter, suggesting any possible move will depend on the club’s hierarchy and the player himself.

Speaking after the match at the Max-Morlock-Stadion, in which summer recruit Pablo Sarabia saw his opening goal cancelled out by a second half Enrico Valentini strike to earn FC Nürnberg a 1-1 draw, Tuchel gave this thoughts.

He stated: “It’s a matter between the club and Neymar. He’s training with the team for the first time tomorrow, so far he’s only trained individually, and he’s going to China.”
