Tip 1: SELL Total Corners – Man Utd vs Brighton (9.2–9.7)
We’re not expecting a huge amount of corners at Old Trafford on Saturday evening as Manchester United take on Brighton & Hove Albion.
Games involving either of these teams so far this season have averaged just 8.75 corners and indeed United rank 14th and Brighton 12th for the amount of corners they have taken so far this season, with only 38% of United’s games seeing more than 8.5 corners taken.
United managed just four corners in their unlikely win at Liverpool last weekend and their last game at Old Trafford against Sunderland saw a measly return of just five corners – three of which were for the away side.
Brighton meanwhile have conceded a total of just 11 corners across their last three Premier League away games against Wolves, Chelsea and Bournemouth.
How it works
You stake £10 on sell at 9.2, expecting fewer than 9.2 corners.
- If there are 6 corners: You win (9.2 – 7) × £10 = £32 profit
- If there are 12 corners: You lose (12 – 9.2) × £10 = £28 loss
Tip 2: BUY Total Goal Minutes – Arsenal vs Crystal Palace (142-152)
Goals have been forthcoming in the later periods of games for both Arsenal and Crystal Palace this season and we can foresee more of the same when the two face off on Sunday afternoon.
While there was only one goal in Arsenal’s win at Fulham last weekend, it’s worth noting that 10 of the Gunners’ 14 Premier League goals this season have come in the second half, including three in injury time.
Crystal Palace meanwhile played out a 3-3 draw with Bournemouth last weekend, equalising in the 98th minute after the Cherries had seemingly won the game with an 89th minute Ryan Christie strike. The total goal minutes for that game reached a huge 364.
Palace’s two previous Premier League games also saw goals scored in second-half injury time and like Arsenal, they’ve racked up more second-half goals than first-half strikes so far this term.
How it works
This market can swing massively, so we recommend significantly reducing the stake from this bet. You buy at 152 with a 50p stake.
- If the game ends 2-2 with goals in the 45th, 60th, 75th, and 95th minutes (total 275 minutes): You win (275 – 152) × £0.50 = £61.50 profit
- If the game ends 1-0 with a goal on 40 minutes (total 40 minutes): You lose (152 – 40) × £0.50 = £56 loss

Tip 3: BUY Bournemouth Goals – Bournemouth vs Nottingham Forest (1.75-1.95)
Bournemouth found the net three times in their trip to Crystal Palace last weekend despite only taking a point from a thrilling game and that was the second game on the spin in which they managed to score three goals after their win over Fulham the previous week.
The next opponents to face Andoni Iraola’s side are 18th placed Nottingham Forest who will go into this match with their third manager of the season having already sacked Ange Postecoglou less than 40 days after hiring the Australian to replace Nuno Espirito Santo.
The Tricky Trees shipped three goals in their home loss to Chelsea last week and they’ve also conceded three in defeats to Arsenal, West Ham, Midtjylland and Swansea City so far this season.
Sean Dyche will undoubtedly, eventually make them more difficult to break down – but doing so before this long trip to the Vitality Stadium is likely to be too much to ask.
How it works
You stake £10 on buy at 1.95, expecting Bournemouth to rack up the goals.
- If they only score once: (1.95 – 1) × £10 = £9.50 loss
- If they score 3 goals: (3 – 1.95) × £10 = £10.50 profit
New to Spread Betting?
The main difference with spread betting is that a punter is given a spread of numbers and will then pick whether what will happen is above or below that spread. The amount of ‘points’ you win or lose is multiplied by your stake.
In regular betting, if you have a £5 bet and it loses, you have lost £5. In spread betting, if you are wrong by 10 points, that is multiplied by your stake, so you are down £50. This is a huge difference and why spread betting has a niche clientele.
Manchester City vs West Ham might have a total goal spread of 4.25-4.4, given the expected margin of victory for a high-scoring team with home advantage. You sell if you think there will be four goals or less and buy if you’re expecting five goals or more.
The most significant difference is that when you win or lose, your stake is multiplied by how many points the result was on either side of the spread. It’s crucial to understand that, unlike a standard bet, we won’t lose our stake if we get it wrong – we lose it multiplied by how far wrong we were.
But it also works the other way: the more right you are, the more you win. If you bought total goals at 4.4 and the game ends 6–0 (six goals), you don’t just win once, you win for every goal above the spread. In this example, that means (6 – 4.4) × your stake. It’s high-risk, high-reward betting.
