Tip 1: SELL Sunderland Corners – Fulham vs Sunderland (4)

Sunderland have been performing above expectations in the Premier League so far this term, even holding leaders Arsenal to a 2-2 draw at the Stadium of Light last time out. Despite their fantastic form though, corners haven’t been forthcoming for the Black Cats with only Burnley taking fewer than Sunderland’s total of 37 so far.

The corners result against the Gunners was the same as the final match result with each team only winning two and indeed, selling Sunderland corners at four would not have made a loss in any of their last six Premier League games – with £30 profit to be made for a £10 stake in the win at Chelsea, where Regis le Bris’ men won just one.

Fulham have conceded an average of 5.18 corners per match this term but it is worth noting that in their last home fixture against Wolves, they won 10 corners to the visitors’ one. We’re backing the Wearsiders’ set-piece trend to continue at Craven Cottage this weekend by selling Sunderland corners at 4.

How it works

Corner spreads can jump quickly late in games, so it’s important to keep the stake sensible. Here, we’re planning to sell at 4 with a £10 stake, meaning we’re backing fewer than four total Sunderland corners.

  • If Sunderland finish with 2 corners:
    You win (4 – 2) × £10 = £20 profit
  • If Sunderland finish with 6 corners:
    You lose (7 – 4) × £10 = £20 loss

Tip 2: BUY Aston Villa Goals – Leeds vs Aston Villa (1.4)

Aston Villa have a magnificent record under Unai Emery in games coming directly after an international break, going unbeaten in their last 11 such matches. What’s more, they were in fine form before this current break, winning five of their last six in the Premier League and only going down to reigning champions Liverpool at Anfield.

The goals have really started to flow for Villa lately. They put four past Bournemouth last time out with four different goalscorers and they also scored two in recent wins over Maccabi Tel-Aviv, Tottenham Hotspur, Burnley and Feyenoord.

Leeds on the other hand, have hit something of a sticky patch with four defeats in their last five games. The Whites conceded three in each of their last two games against Nottingham Forest and Brighton. It seems likely that the visitors will get a couple of goals at Elland Road on Sunday and two goals for Emery’s side here will be enough to land you some profit, with Villa goals available to buy at 1.4.

How it works

Joining us and backing Villa to get among the goals at Elland Road? We’re buying at 1.4 with a £10 stake, meaning we fancy Aston Villa to score more than 1.4 goals.

  • If Villa score 3 goals:
    You win (3 – 1.4) × £10 = £16 profit
  • If Villa score 1 goal:
    You lose (1.4 – 1) × £10 = £4 loss

Tip 3: BUY Micky van de Ven Card Minutes – Arsenal vs Tottenham (19)

The North London Derby takes centre stage in the Premier League on Sunday night as Thomas Frank’s inconsistent Spurs side look to put a dent in Arsenal’s title aspirations but as with any big derby match, we like to look at the cards markets.

Although by no means the most card-happy player in this Tottenham squad, defender Micky Van de Ven has received four yellow cards so far this season in all competitions and the 24 year old has occasionally been known to let his frustrations get the better of him – so a derby fixture like this one could lead to tempers flaring.

The Dutchman was also booked against Arsenal last season as the Gunners ran out 0-1 winners at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. You can buy his card minutes at 19 here, meaning the potential upside of a late card offers an interesting value market, particularly with red cards counting for double minutes.

How it works

This market can swing sharply because card minutes are highly variable, and reds count as double.
That’s why we’re reducing our stake to £1 to buy at 19 so every minute above or below the spread multiplies our win or loss.

  • If Van de Ven is booked in the 60th minute.
    Profit = (60 – 19) × £1 = £41 profit
  • If he saw a red in the 80th minute, it would settle as 160 minutes (50 × 2):
    Profit = (160 – 19) × £1 = £141 profit
  • If he is booked in the 10th minute.
    Loss = (19 – 10) × £1 = £9 loss
  • If he never receives a card, settlement = 0
    Loss = (19 – 0) × £1 = £19 loss
